Another Washington Post Op-Ed on Climate-gate! A Professor at Penn State University, Michael E. Mann, does his best to defend climate-gate and takes a few swipes at Sarah Palin. I posted parts of the Op-ed: E-mail furor doesn't alter evidence for climate change. Once again when Sarah Palin speaks the ENTIRE world is listening.
The hacked e-mails have been mined for words and phrases that can be distorted to misrepresent what the scientists were discussing. In a Dec. 9 op-ed, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin argued that "The e-mails reveal that leading climate 'experts' . . . manipulated data to 'hide the decline' in global temperatures." Yet the e-mail she cites was written in 1999, just after the warmest year ever recorded (1998) to that date. It could not possibly have referred to the claim that global temperatures have declined over this decade -- a claim that is false (the current decade, as has been recently reported, will go down as the warmest on record).

BTW, as a geologist (BS and MS) I can tell you uncategorically that Mann's Hockey Stick graph is completely bogus. He's cherry-picked the data used for that just like the Russian's data was cherry picked. How convenient. And how completely wrong. He'll be subject to a number of lawsuits now. Just try using any type of immunity or stonewalling when he gets served with a subpoena.

Two data sets show the Fudge over the past 100 years: Australia and New Zealand. Now the Russians are saying the data they've contributed has been cherry-picked. Canada is now in the process of reviewing their data, too. Gosh, I wonder what they'll find? With this level of evidence, it isn't possible to say if HadCRUT is compromised, but since they threw away their data (or so they say), this means we start over but not with them. Any scientist that destroys his data destroys himself.
Everyone knows that no one pays any attention to what she says.
One Op-Ed on climate change brings out the heavyweights on AGW doomsayers ACROSS the spectrum - Arnie (RINO), Gore (Progressive), Mann (Unethical key AGW scientist). Wow. WOW.
