Looks like this research is still at the mouse-abusing stage. Leptin supplements are available but you are on your own as to researching the advisability of usage and dosage.

Battle Axe - if the cat is a lost cause then it’s up to you whether to try leptin. You could try to extrapolate from the mouse dosages given at the link. In any case, good luck with the cat.

Thanks for the link.

But I hope everyone reads the short disclaimer at the bottom of that page.

There are books to read on the subject:

The Rosedale Diet by R. Rosedale

The Leptin Diet by Byron Richards

Mastering Leptin by Byron Richards

You can help yourself with leptin sensitivity by what you eat, how often, don’t eat before bedtime, etc. Supplements maybe, but you do not need to take a leptin supplement. Richards’ recommendations have been very helpful to get my glucose numbers down to normal.

Thanks.

This is so far not a personal problem but it’s certainly a widespread problem.

Any entity that is not a part of Big Pharma has to make that disclaimer, per the FDA. Any natural nutritional supplements have to carry that disclaimer too. Just your .gov trying to monopolize what God gave us (natural health-boosters and common sense).

FReepmail me if you want on or off the diabetes ping list. IIRC, comment# 13 has the specific link.

mmmmmmmmmmm another treatment...

God’s speed to those it helps, but rather have a cure for both type I and II.

Don’t care what causes it, how to prevent it, or the latest high dollar research that says why we get it. Just want to see a cure. Doesn’t seem like too much to ask. Save some of the money on the cause/prevention/demographic studies, and engineer a solution.

Despite my cynicism, want to remain on the pinglist. Just a little cranky.....need a scooby snack...and coffee.
