Michael Steele Must Go Immediately
From SeaTto Shining Sea ^ | 1/08/10 | Purple Mountains

Ordinarily I would not want to take the advice of a leftist like David Korn, especially since I was moved to such optimism when Michael Steele was first elected to head the Republican National Committee. However Steele has not only been a failure, he has been a laughing stock and a buffoon in this job. He has also aroused my ire by making it clear that he has no intention of paying any attention to the Tea Party movement or of supporting any Republicans except blue-blood RINO's. We need to get rid of him fast in order to take advantage of the desperate straits the Democrats have put themselves in this year.

It also appears that I am not alone when I decided to stop contributing to the RNC until they stop supporting liberals and RINO's when they should be neutral in primary races and support conservatives like Marco Rubio in Florida and Scott Brown in Massachusetts when and if they become the party's nominee.

The GOP needs an attack dog like Dean or McCauliffe were dor the DNC. Not a lap dog like Steele.

I agree - but remember GOP leadership elected this guy, and they are still backing him - so the problem is bigger than just Steele - IMHO

Exactly. People might think that Dean was nuts but he was very effective.

Steele is just playing the Moderate Republican game again. Pretend the Conservatives are going to be involved in the GOP and then once the party floods itself with moderates throw the conservatives under the bus again.

I say let him stay.

Support local fiscal conservatives in elections and let the rebirth of conservationism from the grassroots folks eventually overwhelm the National GOP and it’s leaders.

Even conservative hero Haley Barbour, past RNC chairman, was talking RINO on TV yesterday. "GOP must be big tent party", on and on. We all know the pitch.

Sickening.

What did Dean and McAuliffe do that were so outstanding? Not doubting you, just wondering.

They were super aggresive and always challenging the GOP even if it was controversial. I don’t really see Steele doing that. I think people expect the head of the RNC to be very aggressive.

Our only salvation is that DNC Chair Tim Kaine is also an idiot. Maybe even a bigger idiot. But at least he’s a purely liberal idior, not a squishy “moderate” idiot

I say hire Ari Fleischer and UNLEASH him! By that I mean, when he was under leash as press sec’y, he was pretty ordinary; but here these past few months, I have not seen his equal in flushing libtard talkers into the toilet. I think he has what it takes.

This I know: Steele is a poison pill for us.

If the guy is saying he’s unsure of winning in 2010, have him pack his things today.

I would imagine Fleischer is making way too much money consulting to take the job, but the RNC would be wise to pay him for advice once we get a competent leadership team.

Steele might’ve been a decent US Senator had he won in MD in 06. But after all these months at the top of the RNC, he’s just not the guy for that job. The effectiveness just isn’t there.
