Chelsea’s parents gave her love, support, encouragement, a stable home, a good education, nice clothes and a car. But they could not give her safety. Only we as a society could have done that. We didn’t.

Would be awfully helpful if Chelsea, and those like her, had the option to pack heat. More guns, less crime. Only a certifiably mad rapist wants to go after a target who is probably armed.

Tough but true.

I only want to get news of the crime within my community - the crime I have a chance to prevent or avoid if I know about it. All the other crime reports are more like titillation and gossip. It just wears on our spirits.

I could not agree more. If you have the ability to blow the perp out of his socks crime would go down and the issue of hanging would be more or less moot.

It is the senseless murders of kids like this that begs someone yell from the rooftops, “DO NOT GO OUT RUNNING OR ANY OTHER ACTIVITY ALONE”. With regards to these predators, they all need to die.
