Desperate nations find friends wherever they can. Even nations like Israel, the foundation of our Western Civilization, can be coaxed away from the US' orbit if, for example, the Obama Administration creates a tempest in a teapot in order to de-legitimize Israel. Surrounded by enemies (Syria, the Palestinians and Hezbollah) and "friends" (Egypt and Jordan), Israel has relied on outside allies for strategic help since her rebirth in 1947-1948.
What many forget is that America was not the first ally of Israel. The Soviet Union was the first to recognize Israel as a way to decrease British and French influence through her colonies in the Middle East. Warsaw pact arms (often filtered through Czechoslovakia) were among the first Israel received and her early institutions were dominated by immigrants from the Communist/Socialist Soviet Union and pre-war Eastern Europe.
Later, France and the United Kingdom joined Israel in an invasion of the Sinai Peninsula in 1956, before the US demanded they retreat and give Egypts Gamal Nasser a moral victory. Our State Department was riddled with anti-Semites who had no love for Israel.
The point is that American closeness to Israel really has only been obvious since President Richard Nixon airlifted arms and supplies to Israel during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. Like any meaningful relationship, our relationship to Israel needs work. With a committed leftist in the White House, and insane demands that Israel not build 1,600 apartments in their own capital, Israel is casting about for a new ally to supplement the relationship with America and Europe.
Here comes China. After five years of poor relations due to Israel backing out of a military contract (in response to a request by President Bush) China is once again in Israel to resume military ties. This is a bad sign...

Another smooth move by the illegal USA Bandit Regime.
“I wonder how much military technology the Israelis transfer to China? “
Much less than did the Clinton Administration.
Pushed away. They were pushed.
LIBERAL AMERICAN JEWS... PAY ATTENTION!
Thank you.
LLS
Others will step in to fill the void. And step on him, and the U.S., in the process.
Goo BIBI!
FUBO!
You owe your a$$ to China.
HA, HA, HA
Give them enough incentive, and they will radically improve Chi-Com military tech, from AWACs to missile defense.
Bump!
Unfortunately for the Israeli's the Chi-Coms are an even less trustworthy "ally" ...who has already shown they will help Iran over Israel...and only will abstain (if at all) temporarily until they drain Israeli tech dry.
Then they will reverse back to whoever holds the oil..
Israel knows that we have to borrow money from China to send to Israel so they simply decided to cut out the middle man. Can’t say I blame them.

What did Sandy Berger get? Or Ron Brown?
If we were to be attacked before I’d have to consider allowing the enemy of Obama and the liberals to succeed before I joined the fight. As Obama believes “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”, in this casek, so would I.
It would also be funny to watch the liberal politicians screaming “Where is our base!” as the mongolian hoards stampede the capital.
The fact is that Israel needs to stop Iran’s nukes, and our President will not lift a finger to help. Look at the refusal to allow Israel to purchase our bunker busting bombs. Perhaps working with China will help Israel feel confident enough to attack Iran and do America’s job for us?
Timely reminder that altruism is not a factor in diplomatic relations.
I might go a few years earlier than that. IIRC the US stepped-in to assist the Israelis on a weapons deal after the '67 War when the French refused to sell the Mirage 2000 to Israel. The Israelis eventually got them but put US engines into them. After that it was Phantom II's & Skyhawks.
Diplomatic relations something Obama thinks is about aunts and uncles.
My bad. It was the Mirage V that the French embargoed. The Kfir didn’t enter service with the IAF until ‘76.
