I've used commercial cat repellent, cayenne pepper, and now just put out an electronic device that's supposed to detect motion and emit an ultrasonic sound to repel them.
I'm furious, I spend 2 wasted hours every Saturday to just clean up the cat scat in my front yard.
Any suggestions out in Freeperland for chasing away the cats without hurting them that I haven't already thought of.

That's usually where mine come from. Strays. I drop $200-300 on them right away for shots, the Fe-Luke test, deworming and neutering.
I think that owners who don't vaccinate p*ss me off more than anything. I've paid well over a thousand dollars over the years testing and putting down abandoned cats with Fe-Luke. Heck, we spent $200 putting down a starving kitten my daughter found just last fall who tested positive for Fe-Luke. She was a real sweetheart, too. That one hurt.
An animal killing another for food so cruely, is expected in Nature. We also expect a human being to know the differnce and act like an normal sane adult. Not like another wild animal. That's what makes ,ost of us different from animals. Some-- not so much.
The point is there wouldn’t be less homeless hungry cats in your yard-— doing what GOD & nature intended them to do to survive.

Yea, my cat is an indoor cat, but he does have a harness and a leash and will take a walk now and then. I changed my view on this because it was just a matter of time before I would have had to pop a cap into some dimwitted neighbor like the OP or the many acolytes here.
As skunks are a dilemma. I have had them walk right up to me while I was eating dinner, while camping, and beg at my feet. It is not like you can try to kick them or try to spook them. They win the dare and my respect every time they have entered my camp.
I would think if one was trapped and drugged you might be able to drive it out of town. Call animal control and ask what they would do.
Trap and release 20 miles away. Preferably in the woods or the country to feed the coyotes.

You really are dense. No, actually, you're stupid. These cats are wild, they're not someone's pets. The law doesn't give a damn if I remove them from my property and release them elsewhere. You know I have considered the possibility that she might fare well against a cat. I know she could do incredible damage to me if she wannted to. Even so, she's helpless in many ways as she's always been a pet and never had to defend herserlf in the wild. Defending her is my responsibiliy and I'll continue to do so in spite of the protests of some.

Sometimes its just answering your silly posts, so I find it fruitless and will just stop reading yours. They are true cruelty...(I can use that word inappropriately just as you do) BB guns Bah, before the wussy' nosy Biddie's started running this country, ever boy grew up with a BB gun and some girls also...The government paid a bounty to get rid of vermin,(including crows) now they make you pay them to get rid of vermin like Florida that wants to get rid of the non-native pythons some lover of animals let loose when they weren't cute little snakes anymore...killing off the natural wildlife and someone's kitty or small dog...Instead of having to buy a special license, if the stupid government put a bounty on those vermin, they'd all be gone in a couple of years..

Indeed. For strays, it’s first quarantine, then veterinary care ASAP. It was difficult losing little Katy, also a sweetie, but we couldn’t save her as hard as we tried. The vet bills are worth it though.
My very favorite cat of all time, my Rocket, was adopted as an adult from a shelter. He had some health problems, but he pulled through and has given me more joy than I can say. Yeppers! The vet bills were worth every penny.
Thanks for the comments. I totally agree about the “country” cats on farms and such. No problemo with that at all! My beef is with kittehs in urban communities and cities who are “let out” to make out on their own. They do not usually have the instincts nor are they protected from being hit by cars, picked on by close neighbors who don’t care about them, not neutered or vaccinated. I totally respect the farm cat’s job! Mine are protected inside kittehs and seem to appreciate it.
Congratulations — again, it’s good to know because we certainly all have to survive, get some peace, and sleep. At the same time it makes me so incredibly annoyed at pet owners for ultimately not caring about their animals or their neighbors.
The firearm most commonly used is the air rifle or “BB gun.” Unfortunately many adults and most young people are under the mistaken assumption that an air rifle kills immediately. In reality, the small air-driven projectiles or “pellets” do not carry the sufficient kinetic energy needed to humanely dispatch small animals, thus rendering them hopelessly wounded to die a slow death. Birds rendered flightless and maimed small mammals such as rabbits are just some of the many animals admitted to the SPCA Wildlife Department carrying air gun pellets in their bodies (see X-ray photo of a pellet lodged in a crow's upper body, above). In rare cases removal and a successful recovery are possible, but all too often severe damage has been done, thus rehabilitation and release are not options.
They are not all wild...MOST were peoples pets and just abandoned or got lost. And, I would dare you to call your police station and ask them if they give a d@mn if you capture and relocate any animal. Hopefully, you'll learn something.
