On May 5, in speaking about Obama’s documentation, she said: "This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it’s one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country. So I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact and yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue and I think it’s again a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this.” However, the only statement issued by any Hawaii state official during the campaign is here, and it did not mention the hospital of Obama’s supposed birth.

Now we have Jake Tapper or Major ask Gibbsy to comment on Obama’s hospital where he was born. Pin them down. Ask if tourists will be asking for the delivery room and physician at the time,etc. If a plaque will be placed, Obama was born here?

Now that it has been released no reason to shield it any longer.

It would be revealing if someone were to visit Kapi’olani Hospital and look for a plaque on the wall somewhere near the main entrance or admissions desk and discover that the hospital (not the clinic) was built in the ‘70s and opened around 1975 or 76.

What about Hawaii giving BC’s to foreign born for the welfare dollars? These BC’s were not citizenship but maybe Lingle & Okubo has decided it is. Maybe when Hawaii was handing them out they were breaking federal law.

At first it seemed bizarre but now with Lingle on board she is protecting more than Obama.

Factcheck.org goes on to say this about Obama Sr., Jr. and the British Nationality Act of 1948:

In other words, at the time of his birth, Barack Obama Jr. was both a U.S. citizen (by virtue of being born in Hawaii) and a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies (or the UKC) by virtue of being born to a father who was a citizen of the UKC.

Even the modern day State Department rules discusses the problems associated with dual citizenship:

(e)While recognizing the existence of dual nationality, the U.S. Government does not encourage it as a matter of policy because of the problems it may cause. Dual nationality may hamper efforts by the U.S. Government to provide diplomatic and consular protection to individuals overseas. When a U.S. citizen is in the other country of their dual nationality, that country has a predominant claim on the person.

the U.S. Supreme Court has stated that dual nationality is a "status long recognized in the law" and that "a person may have and exercise rights of nationality in two countries and be subject to the responsibilities of both." See Kawakita v. United States, 343 U.S. 717 (1952).

So, back to the question: "HOW CAN A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN'S STATUS BE "GOVERNED" BY GREAT BRITAIN?"
It can't. Of course not. Yet, right there, on his campaign web site F.T.S., it's stated that a foreign government "governed" Barry from birth and the reason it did, was that Barry inherited that foreign citizenship by way of his foreign national father (no matter where he was born), a fact backed up by Factcheck.org. Assuming, of course, that Sr. was his legal father at birth.
How, then, could he possibly be a "Natural Born Citizen" of the U.S.?

Furthermore:  Hawaii's Territorial Law, Chapter 57 - "VITAL STATISTICS, I", shown beginning pg 23 of 29, (the law in effect in 1961) allowed the parents (or grandparents or other relative) of baby's born anywhere in the world to be eligible to apply for a Hawaiian birth certificate. A mailed-in form (without mention of a hospital, doctor, or midwife) signed by one of his grandparents (who forged the parent signature(s)) would have been enough to set up a birth record and a birth certificate at the Dept of Health. The Dept of Health would (presumably) then have automatically sent the names of the parents, their address as given on the mailed-in form , the gender of the child, and the date of birth to the Honolulu Advertiser and Star-Bulletin. The address given for the parents in the newspaper announcements is actually, however, the August 1961 home address of Obama’s maternal grandparents Stanley and Madelyn Dunham [6085 Kalanianaole Highway], and not the 1961 home address of Barack Obama, Sr. [625 11th Ave].) This notification would then have automatically generated the newspaper announcements. (This was the practice of the Honolulu Advertiser and Star-Bulletin at the time).

Bottom line: Even IF (big IF) he was born in HI, he inherited his father's foreign citizenship as well, making him a US citizen by US law and a subject to the crown of her majesty the Queen of England by inheritance and England's law. He could not be considered a Natural Born Citizen as known by and as intended by the framers.

Again, excuse me for laughing at the good Governor's statement above about sending a government official to look at Obama's long form birth certificate, but I found her statement so funny and strange.

It would appear that Lingle is tossing out crumbs without allowing herself to be implicated, since she technically did not see the B.C. herself. I am wondering if she even sent someone over to view it. She's right---it is a horrible distraction for the country, so why not attempt to establish some credibility so that this issue goes away? Obama could take away the distraction but he knows he loses something big if he does. Lingle could address the issue, but she knows she loses as well because she has participated in the cover-up. They are both gambling on keeping the secret hidden long enough to make it irrelevant. It won't work.

Yes if he was born on US soil, no if he wasn't. The law on passing along citizenship at that time for a child born of a US citizen mother and a foreign national father (or vice versa) was 8 U.S.C. § 1401(g). The version in effect at the time required: [8 U.S.C. § 1401(a)7]

a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than ten years, at least five of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years

Stanley Ann Dunham was 18 years old in August 1961, too young to have lived in the US (or anywhere else) for 5 years after the age of 14.

I've gone over this before many times. Yes, Kapi'olani Clinic for Women and Children has been around since the days of Queen Lilioukalani. It was a clinic for Hawaiians and later for plantation worker's families to receive health care, gratis. It was and is a well intentioned, noble public health institution for the poor, but it was just clinic.

Kapi'olani Hospital wasn't built until the '70s and opened sometime in the mid '70s, while I was attending the UH at Manoa.

Let's look at it this way; it's 1961, do you think Madelyn Dunham would drive her hapai daughter several blocks past Queen's Hospital to give birth at a clinic? Besides, the clinic would just send her to Queen's anyway.
