How The U.S. Can Become Greece
Canada Free Press ^ | 11 May, 2010 | Allan Caruba

I find it interesting that an entire nation like Greece can face bankruptcy.

Greece will be loaned billions that it is not likely to ever repay. Meanwhile, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Ireland are financially shaky as well. England is not much better off and the United States is printing money in the basement of the Federal Reserve while also borrowing it from China, Japan, and everyone else. Too much government intervention and too many regulations

Our current miseries can be traced in part to too much government intervention and too many regulations. My hero, Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, keeps track of such things and, in April, pointed out that last year Congress passed 125 bills, but federal agencies issued 3,503 final rules. Congress tasks its agencies to fill in the blanks when it passes new laws, but this now constitutes “regulation without representation,” says Crews.

This is a remarkable insight into the present government's means of creating a Bureaucratic Web of Orwellian Evil, and the remarks by both Caruba and Crew should be carefully reviewed.

It is Greece. We just haven't collectively come to this realization, yet.

If we keep doing what we are doing, we will become Greece.

In the title essay of the 292-page volume, Our Ageless Constitution," Justice Joseph Story is quoted on the wisdom, as well as the fragility, of the United States Constitution.

When one considers the great intellect, wisdom, understanding and foresight of America's Founders--all directed toward preserving the liberty of rising generations, one must conclude that their worst fears are being realized as this foolish President "transforms" America into a debtor nation, making slaves of all citizens and snuffing out the light of liberty for his own posterity--indeed, for all the world.

Justice Joseph Story said of the Constitution of the United States: "The structure has been erected by architects of consummate skill and fidelity; its foundations are solid; its components are beautiful, as well as useful; its arrangements are full of wisdom and order, and its defenses are impregnable from without. It has been reared for immortality, if the work of man may justly aspire to such a title. It may, nevertheless, perish in an hour by the folly, or corruption, or negligence of its only keepers, THE PEOPLE. Republics are created by virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens."

If America's citizens, who are designated by the Constitution to be the constitutional KEEPERS of the Constitution, do not act soon to reverse the reckless plunge this Administration is taking toward undoing the Founders' protections for liberty, then future generations may never know or experience their heritage of liberty.

I think Mr. Caruba is too optimistic in saying it is up to the next generation or two to return the U.S. to its founding principles. Action is needed immediately and it's coming from those Baby Boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, that grew up and left the counter culture in the dust of childhood where it belongs. They are drinking TEA and fighting back against their co-generationalists who are still drinking the kolaid of their youth. They and their leader BO are foisting communism on the rest of us at breakneck speed and don't realize they are the useful idiots of the one world order crowd. The goal they are so blindly pushing us toward is the fall of the U.S. which will remove the last heretofore stubborn obstacle to a one world currency and a one world governance with no borders and no reverence of individual freedom. The likes of George Soros and Maurice Strong will decide what is good for us. We have a very brief window in time to prevent the U.S. from becoming Greece and allowing their evil plan to become reality.

Good points. Everyone keep spreading the word. Hopefully, by November 2, 2010, people will have educated themselves to all that is happening and there will be a resounding Republican Victory. I keep telling my wife, "Will anyone vote democrat in November?"
