President Barack Obama has refused to meet with Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona:

President Obama has turned down Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's request to meet while she's in Washington next week as tensions mount between his administration and Arizona over the state's new law cracking down on illegal immigrants.

It appears he's too busy. And too busy in the future as well.

Brewer will be in Washington to meet with other governors. She said Friday that she had asked to meet with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to discuss border security and immigration. But Obama's schedule "doesn't allow for a meeting" with her, White House spokesman Adam Abrams said, adding that the president "does intend to sit down with the governor in the future."

The guy is busy. He'll be at a Paul McCartney concert and then host the Major League Soccer Men's championship team. There simply isn't time for issues of national concern or national security. There are more important things to be done.

Obama intends to overturn the Arizona law:

He's taken two vacations in the past 40 days, right? And he's too busy to meet with the governor?

Coward.

This is not just refusing to meet with a governor...it’s another brick in the wall between him and us.

And US is the 70% of the AMERICAN PEOPLE who support AZ.

She should grandstand at his social event and hold a presser about his refusal.

He's taken two vacations in the past 40 days, right?

I suspect he is working with lawyers to keep himself from being called as a witness for Blago and defense against impeachment for offering a job to a candidate for senator.

He could care less about the United STATES.

He’s simply a narcissist in love with his own ideas, seeking paternal approval.

“....defense against impeachment for offering a job to a candidate for senator.”

#####

What milquetoast, aisle-crossing, balless Republican would even consider the royal palace disrupting unpleasantness of impeachment?

The original excuse was "there was no time in the schedule." Then Prime Minister Netanyaho (sp?) canceled his visit and I thought surely, this would give our dear President an opportunity to meet with Governor Brewer and maybe get up to speed on the Arizona law....

Gee, maybe the President was lying about his filled up schedule!

Well, you could be right. I'm going to remember that strategy if I'm ever subpoenaed — “Sorry. Can't make it. I'm a busy guy.”

I agree. Governors have to jettison the misunderstanding that they “answer” to the POTUS. Respect, yes. Accountability to him, no.
