Knee Capping Mitch McConnell: Lisa Murkowski Concedes to Joe Miller
RedState ^ | August 31st | Erick Erickson

Posted on 08/31/2010 9:36:49 PM PDT by militanttoby

Lisa Murkowski is conceding the senate primary in Alaska to RedState and Sarah Palin endorsed Joe Miller.

This news is bigger than Lisa Murkowski. While Establishment Republicans will bristle at it, this is a near total kneecapping of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, not to mention another rejection of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Consider this inside baseball fact: McConnell has chosen as his loyal lieutenants at the leadership table Robert Bennett (R-UT), Judd Gregg (R-NH), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX).

Judd Gregg is retiring and McConnell sought to replace him with Trey Grayson of Kentucky. Grayson, however, lost to Rand Paul in the Kentucky GOP Primary.

Conservatives threw Bob Bennett out at the Utah GOP convention, replacing him with firebrand conservative Mike Lee.

Now Lisa Murkowski is defeated, like Bob Bennett, by conservative activists concerned by the fiscal drift of the Republican Party and the overall direction of the American republic.

Consider another fact: Conservatives, led by Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin, are potentially creating the most conservative Senate Republican Conference in the last thirty or so years: Sharron Angle, Ken Buck, Mike Lee, Joe Miller, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Pat Toomey will be joining Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn, and David Vitter.

We cannot afford RINO’s any longer.

RINO’s don’t consider Obama as the enemy. Conservatives like Sarah Palin do.

Just wait after 2 more election cycles. Conservatism is not going away. The BS facade presented by the liberal media, RINOs, and Dems is being stripped. You can thank Obama, Reid, and Pelosi for it. Government is going to be transformed for the better.

Palin Anticipates ‘Final Victory’ for Miller

This is about way more than Cornyn and Mrukowski. This is about the old Senate guard circling the wagons and protecting their leadership positions. Anybody with one eye and half sense knows that Miller is one more vote for DeMint as Senate Majority Leader and one less for McConnell. New constitutional conservative Senators means new leadership and fruit basket turnover on the Senate committees.

Read the comments to this article on Red State...... the guy throwing a hissy-fit is a long-timer there and he hates Palin and anything connected with her.

I don’t know if he posts on FR, but his rep is well known at Conservatives4Palin for a huge dustup last year on RS between him and some Palin supporters. I basically stopped even posting there because he is so insufferable. Eric puts up with him, but seems his comments tonight even irritated him.

Good question. People with weak chins can’t lead anything. But dumping two incumbents says to the party that winning isn’t enough. You need to have principals to run on or why bother.

It looks like someone needs to throw McConnell out as well!

McConnell can go bye-bye as far as I'm concerned.

He has NEVER been able to control the Floradora Girls from Maine. The GOP needs a strong majority leader who will immediately strip Snowe and Collins of all their important committee positions, their perks, and their virginity.

Hopefully it's the end to over two decades of Bush family dominance of the GOP.
