The recent discovery of Gliese 581g, an alien planet in the habitable zone of another star, has been an exciting development for scientists probing the galaxy for signs of extraterrestrial life. At least one claim of a possible signal from the planet has already surfaced and been met with harsh skepticism among the science community.
Following the Sept. 29 announcement of the discovery of Gliese 581g, astronomer Ragbir Bhathal, a scientist at the University of Western Sydney, claimed to have detected a suspicious pulse of light nearly two years ago, that came from the same area of the galaxy as the location of Gliese 581g, according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail online

Translation of the signal:
“Dump Reid!”
They must be friendlies...
So, so close, Dr Drake.
Perhaps it is.......... an incoming message from the Big Giant head in three...two....one....
I bet. The signal is probably only in one persons head
It says April Fool.
When I see that tech data, maybe I can decide between it's horse apples or, maybe, just maybe, it's a signal.
But until I see the data, I'm not impressed.
And just think what a real engineer or scientist could do. As everybody on FR knows, 'I'm just a cook'.

Prepare to come back home obama.
You should have known we would find you.
At first glance, since this planet is more massive (3 to 4 times) than the earth, I thought I wouldn’t want to go there because I would weigh too much. However, it is larger than the earth (between 1.3 and 2 times) so:
The force of gravity depends on a few things. First, it depends on your mass and the mass of the planet you are standing on. If you double your mass, gravity pulls on you twice as hard. If the planet you are standing on is twice as massive, gravity also pulls on you twice as hard. On the other hand, the farther you are from the center of the planet, the weaker the pull between the planet and your body. The force gets weaker quite rapidly. If you double your distance from the planet, the force is one-fourth. If you triple your separation, the force drops to one-ninth. Depending on the actual diameter, it might not be so bad.
The answer is obvious. The flash was from a weapon being launched against us. A massive warhead is on its way to Earth and could arrive at any time. We must launch an immediate counter-strike against the Gliesian menace!
Gliesed Lightning
The signal took too long. It's actually says "Douglas sucks, vote Lincoln..."
I’m just a plumber.....
OBVIOUSLY it’s just Hadden Industries, messin’ with us all.
Ragbir Bhathal? What was the signal? Allahu akbar?
They are uncertain about the first part but the last part is this.......call home.
Particle physics = oxymoron.
Those were searchlights, heralding the opening of a new strip joint.
