No big vanity here, guys (nor, perish the thought, an "opus").
I just wanted to observe the fact that I've been on this forum for 10 years today, and to thank Jim Robinson for the opportunity to vent my spleen and express whatever humorous or (hopefully) thoughtful impulses happen to drift through my transom. And when they do, it is often at the instigation and inspiration of many of you here assembled. You folks have become like an extended family to me, and yes, I truly mean that.
Thank you all for your passion, your humor and your continuing commitment to help restore the kind of America I recall so fondly as a child and a young man.
I sincerely hope that in another ten year's time, we will have taken steps toward restoring the nation we all love, and I know instinctively that all of you will have helped participate in that effort.

Agreed, this is a wonderful place, lots of people from different backgrounds and stages in life.
I would that it could be a permanent fixture on the net, as it is a home “away.”
I just passed my 11th year last month.
I still have a bumper sticker on my truck that some FReeper sent me 10+ years ago. It says:
