This guy was great on Fox & Friends yesterday - quite a character, but very well-spoken. I guess it helps that I agree with him...

Well, living in Northeast Ohio, this is not the greatest news but if the pilgrims and native Americans could deal with it, I’m okay with it.

From the article:

“Despite it often being mentioned that the consensus in the scientific community is that global warming is undisputedly occurring.....”

It is NOT the consensus:

I found Corbyn after I started reading the writings of Lord Monckton (he of the ‘its the 23rd hour, 59th minute...’ oratory...back before Hopenhagen was an EPIC FAIL).

He is quite the character...and I too agree with him.

I read all this stuff in the 70’s about the coming ice age.

That turd didn't flush, and through the 80’s it manifest into global warming.

The reality is that climate is variable over long cyclical periods that take longer than the average human life span.

The other reality is that those who run these scams are elitist communists who seek nothing short of the extermination of all the wrong kind of people.

Chriton wrote a decent book that has some useful information in the last few chapters... “State of Fear” or something similar. Robin Cook had some useful pertinent information in one of his books, damned if I can remember which one.

This is all a fabulous case study in the ability of people to slide between fact and fiction with not a frikin clue as to what is real.

Those who perpetuate this bull$hit know what is real, and they have a clue as to what they need you to do.

Here in Aus we have had the drought break with large floods _ I predicted this last summer when all the doom and gloomers were saying we needed to spend billions on desalination plants etc. It’s normal after a long drought to have them broken by flooding rains. This is very similar to the drought break in the late seventies.

Absolutely within the bounds of normal.

Just normal weather. The Left has even politicized the weather. Good Grief.

Just think of all the bull$hit the government has inflicted on us. Raising the prices of fuel, cars, food. Because I drive a big P/U in the state of NY, I had to pay $200 just to register it this year all because of this hoax that has been perpetrated on us the government. Now the idiot from Shell is coming out with the price of gas will be $5 per Gal. by 2012 all because we ‘evil’ people that work to support our families, have to drive. It is all a government control thing.

If you look at the longterm cycles of the ice ages, the “interglacial” warm period that we have been in for the last 12,000(?) years is the flatest and longest of the previous ones.

And in geologic terms, the onset to an “ice age” happens fairly quickly. IIRC on the order of 100 - 200 years. (Not the millions of years we usually think of when looking at geology).

Just a cautionary note. This fellow's like the goldbugs: prophetically right through an entire decade that's left the 'experts' largely flat-footed. I'm restraining a desire to cheer.

The trouble with being right when most others are wrong comes with the compensation mechanisms needed to stay cheery throught the shunning and taunting that comes with being easily singled out. In the goldbug case, morale is kept up with the realization that fiat currencies eventually go to zero value: the hyperinflation narrative. This kind of anchoring makes it tempting to keep doubling down when proven right again and again. You can think of it as inverse boosterism.

Eventually, though, the tide shifts and excitement turns into embarrassment. The fellow who was right when most others were wrong turns into yet another shark-jumper, like the people pushing real estate in '06 and Internet geeks in '99. Unlike the normal booster, the prescient doomsayer isn't forgiven - especially if his/her brand of doomsaying doesn't flack (or shill) for the government.

Predicting a new Ice Age is a way to get attention, 'tis true, but I'm beginning to wonder if Mr. Corbyn is approaching the shark-jumping moment. Sad to say, the prophetic minority is all-but-fated to go over the top. The psychological burden of bucking pap spread widely, and the consequent need to keep heart, get them in the end.

This brutal cold weather we have been experiencing can only be blamed on one person whose initials are GWB. We are all being punished for making his new book a best seller.
