Global Warming Skeptic Predicts Brutal Winter, Warns “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”
Mediaite ^ | December 27, 2010 | Matt Schneider

British meteorologist Piers Corbyn appeared on Fox and Friends to not only celebrate his accurate prediction of a bone-chillingly cold winter, but to also share his disgust with what he believes to be the “failed science” behind global warming. Despite it often being mentioned that the consensus in the scientific community is that global warming is undisputedly occurring, Corbyn proudly goes against the grain and advocates for his hypothesis of the coming global cooling.

Predicting in November that winter in Europe would be “exceptionally cold and snowy, like Hell frozen over at times,” Corbyn suggested we should sooner prepare for another Ice Age than worry about global warming. Corbyn believed global warming “is complete nonsense, it’s fiction, it comes from a cult ideology. There’s no science in there, no facts to back [it] up.”

Furthermore, he disputed the underlying assumption of most scientists, arguing that higher carbon dioxide levels does not actually have the effect of increasing temperature, and instead global warming supporters “fiddle the facts to justify political attacks.”

Regardless of the politics behind the scientific debate, what everyone should be upset about is if Corbyn’s next prediction is accurate, that the “northeast and east USA [will] suffer the most horrendous blizzards for decades.” He even tweeted out his warning saying “you ain’t seen nothing yet” this winter.

Another "Little Ice Age" or a real one?

This guy was great on Fox & Friends yesterday - quite a character, but very well-spoken. I guess it helps that I agree with him...

Well, living in Northeast Ohio, this is not the greatest news but if the pilgrims and native Americans could deal with it, I’m okay with it.

I’ve been following Corbyn for awhile... got a few of my friends to start following his little “predictions.” He’s a hoot. He’s right on the money - it’s the sun!

Whooo! I remember back in the late 60s early 70’s winters were brutal up there.

We had snow piled 14 foot high along the drive one year.

From the article:

“Despite it often being mentioned that the consensus in the scientific community is that global warming is undisputedly occurring.....”

It is NOT the consensus:

I found Corbyn after I started reading the writings of Lord Monckton (he of the ‘its the 23rd hour, 59th minute...’ oratory...back before Hopenhagen was an EPIC FAIL).

He is quite the character...and I too agree with him.

I read all this stuff in the 70’s about the coming ice age.

That turd didn't flush, and through the 80’s it manifest into global warming.

The reality is that climate is variable over long cyclical periods that take longer than the average human life span.

The other reality is that those who run these scams are elitist communists who seek nothing short of the extermination of all the wrong kind of people.

Chriton wrote a decent book that has some useful information in the last few chapters... “State of Fear” or something similar. Robin Cook had some useful pertinent information in one of his books, damned if I can remember which one.

This is all a fabulous case study in the ability of people to slide between fact and fiction with not a frikin clue as to what is real.

Those who perpetuate this bull$hit know what is real, and they have a clue as to what they need you to do.

Algore doesn’t care — he has made his money with this hoax. He even bamboozled the Nobel committee in getting him a Prize.

And to think that this charlatan almost became POTUS.

I remember major snow storms too. There was a huge blizzard in January of 1978. People still talk about it. We’ve had a lull for some time now and weather is cyclical but I do think Corbyn’s onto the right concept. We have had a period of low sunspot activity. High sunspot activity means warmer temps. Low means lower temps. My astronomy prof taught me this awhile back.

Interglacials last on average somewhere between 11,500 and 12,000 years. It has been 11,711 years since the last one ended. The next ice age could start any time but it seems the orbit of the Earth has more to do with that than anything.

You are right about the sun cycle.\
We are coming out of the maurunder minimum now.

However, there is a lag time in sun getting to earth.

We are about to feel the cold of the quiet sun IMHO.

Would it not be the coolest (or warmest) thing if man made greenhouse gasses averted a cyclical ice age, and we all lived happily ever after...?

Talk about a lot of pissed off “environmentalists”.
