A couple months ago, my Grandma lost her balance, fell backwards, and cut open her head and broke her wrist. She had surgery on her wrist and was in the hospital for a week. Since they didn't walk her in the hospital, it began to affect the muscles in her legs. Much to her displeasure, she had to go into a nursing home for a time to work on walking and rehabilitating her wrist. When she came home, my Mom and aunt took turns staying with her every other day because her walking wasn't 100%, and she only had the one arm, so it was hard for her to push up when getting up and grab onto things. Anyway, yesterday, she was supposed to get the cast off her her arm. Everyone was looking forward to it. She could then start staying by herself all the time again.
The day before, her "good" hand felt numb. She also had some pain in her face. They didn't think it was a stroke, and her chiropractor told her to come in because he thought the hand was related to her neck. They thought the pain in her face was due to a sinus infection. She gets those with similar face pain from time to time.
She went to get the cast off, and the numbness was not getting better. The doctor who took the cast off said to watch and see if things got worse, and he suggested a test she could have done. She went to the chiropractor in the aftertoon, and she began to have difficulty walking and slurred speech. They called a life squad and took her to the hospital. At the hospital, she had a seizure. They found out that she had a hemorraghic stroke, and she has some bleeding on the brain.
She is fully conscious of what is going on, although her speech is slurred to a degree. She also has little feeling in her left hand and isn't walking that well. The doctor said it remains to be seen if they can get the bleeding to stop, but she may never recover her speech and her movement on that side fully.
This is my last surviving grandparent who I am close to, and I am asking for prayers for her. She was absolutely miserable in the nursing home, and I don't want to see her have to move in there full time. She loves her independence and condominium. Please pray for a full recovery.
Thanks so much. Your prayers for my cousin's premature baby proved incredibly successful as he is doing well now.

Prayers sent up for your grandma. Let us know of any updates.
A remarkable woman who raised me well, even while fighting her own demons, and she found her salvation though AA. Nothing made me prouder than attending her 10th birthday party last year, and I pray for the grace of God that she has comfort and peace in these remaining hours, as I know she'll have after.
Prayers on the way.
My prayers for your mom and you as well.
I’m so sorry to hear about your Mom. I can’t imagine what you must be going through. I will pray for you and your family, and thanks for your prayers.
My father suffered a massive stroke, followed by other smaller stroke episodes. Our elders are amazingly resilient, and your prayers, and the love and care of your family is the brightest road to recovery. Even though we've since lost him, it was nearly 15 years after doctors told us that he likely wouldn't recover at all, and he certainly proved their prognostication wrong.
Love, prayer, patience, and a helping hand; a willingness to try something a little different, or attack a problem from a different angle, can bring miracles. I pray that your grandmother has one of these miracles, and that she'll have a wide grin on her face as she blows out the candles on her 100th birthday cake.
Saying prayers.
