The Anti-Gun Culture: Irresponsible, Phobia-Driven and Just Plain Wrong on the Facts (Must read)

The one thing you find in the debate about gun control is that there really is a gun culture. And an anti-gun culture.

The anti-gun culture probably is never going to agree with the gun culture, because the two cannot see eye to eye.

The people on one side owns guns. They've fired guns. They understand how guns feel, how they work, what they can and can't do. They know from experience that a gun, properly stored and handled, isn't dangerous.

The other side: Sort of metrosexual. Unwilling to take their own security seriously. The anti-gun culture doesn't fear guns in the way that members of the gun culture fear guns. Their fear is more irrational, phobic - almost superstitious, as if the very presence of guns invites death.

People who don't own or know much about guns -- we imagine that these are often the same type of people who, during a sudden electricity blackout, are initially baffled about what to do. They may not have fire extinguishers in their homes, or, if they do, they're so buried behind stuff in a cabinet that they'd be useless in a fire.

...as if the very presence of guns invites death.

To the Contitutionphobics, it's not only the presence of guns. It's toy guns, it's pictures of guns, it's even thinking of guns. We won't go into how a picture of a bullseye or crosshairs sends the wacky libbies into fits of hysteria.

Simply obvious: When was the last time you read an anti-gun editorial or speech that had all its facts straight?

Guns make criminals and lunatics more dangerous. Guns don’t make people criminals or lunatics.

Gun control is like trying to solve drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.

That particular leg attachment is an M-4(SOCOM) with an M-203. The photo shopper put the 203 on a regular set of hand guards, which wouldn't happen in real life.

My mother is now a conservative, but when my brother was born she was a moderate (leaning left of center.)

She had bought into the liberal parenting canard that spanking children and toy guns engender violence. So she refused to buy my brother toy guns or knives. She wanted to encourage creativity during playtime. So she bought him lots of Legos, Lincoln Logs, Erector Sets, and costumes to stimulate his imagination. (You know where this story is going, don't you?)

When he was six years old, she found him dressed up in his cowboy/western costume hiding behind a fort constructed of Legos and Lincoln Logs pretending to (gasp!) shoot Indians with his toy gun ... contructed rather creatively from Erector Set pieces.

From then on, she bought him whatever toy guns, knives, and swords he wanted and gave up the liberal parenting methods.

Boys will be boys ... thank goodness.

The anti-gunners consider anything to be an AK-47.

That particular shot is from a movie. Now how she actually fired it, I dunno! LOL

It’s from a double feature called “Grindhouse” made by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarrantino. Zombie time with her, Bruce Willis and others in the first feature!

It’s pretty funny and gory. Tarantino zombifies and melts as he trying to rape someone. The 2nd feature is not so good IMHO. Kurt Russell in some sort of race car/murder nonsense.
