Often I hear from fellow teachers that I should be fired since I have conservative beliefs. I get emails from these liberals and they talk about me on their blog, making claims that since I am a conservative, I should not be allowed to be around children, I am clearly intolerant of others, and that everyone should be welcome to be a teacher in this country as long as they are all liberals.

Another reason to shut down government schools.
They should be locally controlled, and union free.
I think you shouldn’t waste 1 second of your life on this; you should just care for the precious children the best you can, and then let the savior take care of it!

Sue them into oblivion.
Yes. Opposition to The One is not tolerated.
Next question, please?
I'm 100% certain that they fail to see the irony of their position. Liberals don't get any irony in their idealogical diet.
Absolutely, the number of people who lost jobs, interviews and lawsuits, because of political correctness is LEGION Grow up and shut up!

That’s a great idea. It would be like using Alinsky against them.
“Make them follow their own rules.”
They seem to have “irony deficit disorder.” I think it goes with their “reality deficit disorder.”
Yours is not just a dissenting voice, but should be the restored voice of America. The liberals are incorrect and themselves have a view that cannot logically be sustained for any country. But, they are seditious and subversive traitors and they move toward government takeover.
We need folks like you who say no to the establshed error-filled educational machine. Then we need to raise children to enter the fields of eduction, media, law to take them back.
That is encouraging. From what I’ve read from A Conservative Teacher, he is out there with his beliefs. He obviously blogs, so I would imagine that he gets some attention due to that.
Thanks, but not my work, therefore, the excerpt.
Excellent! You are both educated and....wise. ;-)
I’m a conservative teacher as well. I teach US Government at an inner city all Boys Catholic School. IMO, its not my job to tell students what to think, its to GET students to think. If they challenge me from the liberal perspective, I’ll argue the conservative point of view and vice versa.
They ask me who I voted for and I tell them it doesn’t matter. What I ask them to do is become INFORMED VOTERS. I don’t just tell them to vote. I think the constant bombardment of students with one sided political rhetoric is a total perversion of the trust place in educators.
We all know liberals dominate education in the US and indoctrination is their goal, but that doesn’t make it right for me to espouse my views. When a question comes up, very often, I’ll have my class refer to the Constitution and sometimes the Federalist Papers, and I allow them to decide for themselves. IMO, that’s what is lacking in American Education; the consistent challenging of students.
As far as a union is concerned, we have one and I am a member. To be quite honest, in many ways membership is not worth it, however if you’re not a member, and you’re accused of something, you get no representation and can be fired. I was once denied a Personal Leave Day, a clear violation of our contract, took the day off, and was docked the day’s pay. If I hadn’t union representation, I would never had gotten the money back. The union does not get in the way of education, curriculum, etc....it represents the teachers when it comes to contracts, working conditions, benefits etc.....a little different from most public school unions affiliated with the national union.
Conservative teacher in Spokane, Wa. I am what is called an agency fee payer. The wea refunds me the portion of the dues which are supposedly used for politics. I then use the rebate and join a conserative teachers association called Association of American Educators that provides me representation and liabilty insurance which surpasses that given wea/nea teachers. You might check it out.
