How Was School Today, Honey? Great! I Practiced Fellatio.

Oh, the irony. While Americans are busy chastising ‘Tiger mom’ Amy Chua for her observations about the state of parenting in the United States, at Markham Elementary School in Oakland, CA, second grade students got naked in their classroom. And engaged in oral sex. And the teacher was there. In the classroom. While it was going on.

Here we are, publicly debating whether or not parenting in America is seriously lacking, and along comes a story about seven-year-olds who are licking each other’s private parts in school.

Good Lord, America: wake up. This is pathetic. Pitiful. Egregious. Flat out disgraceful. Amy Chua may not have used this terminology to describe how American parents, or just adults in general, have failed our nation’s kids – but she could have. And she’d be right.

Why does anyone send their kids to public schools. We need to vote with our feet and take our kids out of public schools.

Why would you think that? Private schools can fire teachers far more easily than public schools can. And believe me, parents have far more input into what goes on in a classroom when they are paying tuition, which keeps the school going.

If you ignore that 900 pound gorilla in the room long enough, maybe it'll just quietly go away.

It used to just be a saying, for one to 'ate' before they were seven.

Liberals are disgusting.

mamelukesabre, can you please change your post to read "those you know are dumb"? My sister has been an Elementary School teacher for the Archdiocese of St. Louis for the past 38 years and I take umbrage at your blanket statement that infers ALL K-6 teachers are dumb.

She is an excellent teacher that cares for the kids and goes out of the way to help them learn. As a matter of fact, she gets in trouble all the time from the new liberal minded principle she has because she is TOO strict on the kids. She is one of the old fashioned teachers that actually makes the kids learn -- not give them the answers.

So speaking from personal experience, I can verify that there are indeed intelligent Elementary School teachers out out there and should not be lumped into such a blanket statement.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Education majors have, on average, the lowest SAT and GRE scores on campus.

So...If your sister is smart, then there is a **very** dumb teacher somewhere in the system to counter her high achievement. There must be because **on average** teachers are NOT NOT NOT the brightest bulbs on the academic shelf.
