"As discussed in a previous post, the elimination of Bin Laden is unlikely to change the kind of candidate Republican primary voters select. But will would-be candidates decide not to run, fearing Obama's reelection is inevitable? Should they?
Obama will receive a bounce in his approval ratings, and discussion of Bin Laden's death will consume media attention for some time. The Republican primary will "pause" while this happens. Some liberal journalists and political commentators will suggest Obama is invincible. As a result, it is possible some Republican candidates who were uncertain of whether to run will decide to pass. But some candidates will remember their history...."

Wait until gas goes over $5, and then announce.
They won’t be able to criticize his foreign policy as much, but there is plenty of the domestic side to talk about.
Give it a day or two. Sheesh. GHWB won a whole damn war.
Within a week we will be talking about the birth certificate, but we won’t be talking about OBL.
Wag the dog BS!
He drops it in the dirt with the stupid forged BC and he says to the country “at his direction” they got Bin Laden. What a phony, what a fake, what a fraud POS.
Although, hopefully, the panty-waist candidates will.
No
It’s silly! In the end it’s the economy no matter even if Obama is carrying Osama dead body around on the campaign tour like Weekend at Bernies!
we’ll be talking about $5/gallon gas before the election gets here.
Obama was/is in much trouble due to domestic decisions more than it being about terrorism. Osama has been thrown into the mix as a victory to complete Bush’s war, but Obama has is own trials to still deal with.
Hate to say this, but the War on Terror stopped being a priority with the American people long before Obama was elected.
The economy is what matters to them.
This Obama strategy is a total failure, too much to swallow from too little a man.
Too much to follow from the “I WON” to swallow.
If anything this will only elevate popularity for everyone else OTHER than Obama for re-election.
Yes America was fooled into voting for him, but thanks to the efforts of millions America now knows more about this fakester, and his gameplans.
so more then a week ago he had this to release.
in that week, he released an obviously forged BC...
now the controversy will be forgotten... the BC accepted as authenticate... and opening his run for 2012
Osama was old news long before Obama was sworn in.
The sheeple's memory is short, as the 2012 campaign is just getting under way.
In any case, Obama is not a Mooselimb. He's a Marxist. And that's why the ignorant sheeple will be feeling pain in 2012.
Just hope the Donks don't nominate someone else!
If killing terrorists were a top priority of the American people, Obama would not be in the White House today.
Sigh, can we not even wait a single day before we start looking at how an event will effect elections? No need to worry about it either; it is simply obvious that this would have helped Obama if it were close to the election time, but will not help him this far out. If a Republican candidate is not smart enough to figure this out, perhaps he is not our best choice anyway.
Yes, and wait for 2016, 2012 is lost.....
Similar to when GHWB beat that Clinton guy in 92 after the Gulf War.
