There are times when words fail to express your true feelings; this is one of those times.
The first thing I want to say is that, as a Christian I cannot feel happy that anyone’s life has ended without them knowing the saving grace of Christ. The state of Osama Bin Laden’s soul is only known to God and to himself, but my knowledge of God’s Word gives me every reason to believe that Bin Laden will spend eternity in Hell. As tempting as it may be, I cannot take pleasure in that knowledge.
As an American, I rejoice with the rest of the sane world that this blight on humanity has been eliminated as a threat and has been brought to justice. Osama Bin Laden made the choices that brought him to this end, and he has only himself to blame. While I do not take pleasure in his death, it does give me a great deal of satisfaction to know that rather than being killed instantly by a missile he did not know was coming, the last thing Osama Bin Laden saw was the face of a dedicated United States Navy Seal and the barrel of his gun. I am proud to be an American, and proud of and grateful to our Armed Forces.
