Bachmann vs. Palin feud hits Twitter
By Matt Lewis

A few weeks ago, I pointed out that a prominent Sarah Palin blogger had turned on Michele Bachmann. On Fox News Sunday this week, Palin pointed out that she, unlike Bachmann, had executive experience (though added that Bachmann had strengths, too). The feud was taken to a new level, however, when Bachmann’s new “celebrity” campaign manager, Ed Rollins referred to Palin as “not serious.”

This was too much for Palin supporter and talk radio host, Tammy Bruce who took to her Twitter feed. Bruce, who also appears in the new film about Palin, “The Undefeated,” Tweeted: “Palinistas, u know my theory Bachmann is a Stalking Horse/patsy for establishment, mission is to divide & distract, don’t fall for it”

Bruce also Tweeted: “I’m told Rollins, aka ‘Bachmann guy’ spent entire intv bashing Palin, not discussing where his candidate stands on issues. Weird.”

It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Earlier today, prominent conservative blogger Michele Malkin lamented the feud, Tweeting: “I hate to see Bachmann and Palin camps going at each other. Hate it.”

No good deed goes unpunished. Malkin must have received some push-back from Palin supporters, because she later Tweeted: “Pro-Palin friends, why are you picking a fight with ME? ‘Camp’ is a general term. Quit it w/the ‘they started it’ crap.”

What good will firing him do now? As far as I’m concerned, the damage is done. MB’s little sword is no match for Sarahs. MB is history. Screw BOR’s poll.

Because Bachmann has to win Iowa or she’s done. Huck won Iowa last time and there are a great deal of his supporters here looking for a home. Rollins of course was the guy that got Huck that win.

This is Bachmann’s only card to play. The Huck bloc is far more monolithic than the Tea Party. She’s in a corner with one way out, and she had to make a deal with the Devil.

Why she is letting Rollins do interviews though is beyond me. She needs to reel him in on that one.

Backmann doesn't have the money to place in Iowa.

Can she rent 200+ buses for the Iowa caucus?

Bachmann is a joke candidate who is biding time for Romney.

Tammy Bruce gets a little heated also, and that doesn't look good for Palin

Palinistas, u know my theory Bachmann is a Stalking Horse/patsy for establishment, mission is to divide & distract
I know that Palin really likes Bruce, but she would never call Bachmann a patsy.

But then Palin can just say, Oh ya know, that's just Tammy!

And what's with using the "Palinistas" PDSers term for those that like Palin?

I think it was first used here at FR by the pissantian crowd.

Doesn’t need to MTB. Huck organized through the churches and pastors. It was quite effective and very low cost.

I know this well - I was organizing for Thompson and the Huck guy in our county did it right under everyone’s nose. Absolutely smoked every other candidate here. Our county is across the river from Nauvoo so Romney had a great presence here.

That’s why she hired Rollins - to tap that network.

It seems so obvious, doesn’t it? Rollins took Huckabee from practically non-existent on a shoe string to 2nd in the 2008 primaries...Bachmann won’t have much money and looks to do the same thing.

The problem is Rollins has zero contention to the church network.

That was %100 Huckabee. They were voting for a man who spoke their language and were motivated by his faith.

Does Rollins move in those circles? No.

Rollins in an uptight Washington RINO who doesn't know anything about religion.

Word on the street is that Pawlenty has already been putting out together buses...

And don’t forget the great job that Ed Rollins did for Christie Whitless in NJ!

Rollins isn't very good with religious people or minorities when he can't pay them off.

He got into trouble with bribing black ministers before.

2008 was all Huckabee's personality and charm.

Rollins won’t have to. He’ll use the surrogates. The Evangelical network is well organized here, though a bit more fractured due to the internal goings on the last couple of years.

Bob Vanderplatts was on stage with Cain this week. He’s the state version of Huck and was one of Huck’s lead guys. I expect the Huck bloc to be fractured because of it. Steve Scheffler and Kim Lehman, our national committee people, will factor into this too. They have their own following.

As far as Bachmann being Romney’s stalking horse, watch Steve King. If he doesn’t endorse, then there’s problems. He and Bachmann are comrades-in-arms. King would never tolerate being used by Romney, he has way too much to lose.

Pawlenty is working the Straw Poll hard. If he’s renting buses for caucus that won’t surprise me either. His team has already approached me and others to support them. He needs to win Iowa too, and that’s the only card he has to play.

Michelle shouldn’t even be thinking of running...CONGRESS CRITTERS NEVER WIN THE PRESIDENCY...and Sarah is right Michelle hasn’t the experience necessary to be president.

Don’t take the cheese, they would both be great choices.

Pray for America

Maybe so bray but hiring Rollins is just bad judgment on her part.

In any case, Bachmann has no shot whatsoever.

I should clarify, those surrogates I referred to are the upper level people in the Evangelical movement. You have to understand, IMO most of them aren’t very Christian and are cutthroat hypocrites. You can’t believe the nastiness and fakery that exists in those circles.

They will have no problem dealing with Ed if they feel Bachmann serves their purpose. He’ll use them as the faces to marshal the votes, because you are right, Ed would never play to the grassroots. Ed will just pull strings.

Tammy can say that because she’s not “Official” Palin Campaign.

She’s “unofficial” Palin Campaign and a Friend Of Sarah.

She can trash Bachmann mercilessly while Palin and the official SarahPAC team conduct themselves as the souls of the 11th Commandment.

If Romney and his people want to pull that crap, Palin can do it, too, only she won’t be clumsy about it and have one of her official people trash Bachmann. She’ll have a cutout do it, like Tammy.

Best,

Chris

It took a week for two reasons. First he liked the hits it gave his site and second he kept waiting for the result he wanted. When he didn’t get it, he made it up. I have no proof since he does not show a running total of votes while the poll is active, but knowing what a sleaze O’Reilly is, this theory makes the most sense.

When I voted, being leery of such poll results, I checked to see if one could vote twice or more, and you could. To get his desired results, O’Reilly probably hired ten people to vote repeats 24/7 for Bachmann, and their pay was based on quantity of votes they did.

Why is Palin’s person insulting Bachmann when Palin has not even announced she is running? Stupid mistake. They need to go after Romney and the other stupid rinos.
