I'm a photog too! I studied it in school then spent the last 25+ years sidetracked in IT, I got back into it a year ago and discovered I like food photography. Trying to build up to be able to take it full time. my website

Food photography is one of the hardest photographic forms there is in my opinion.

It sounds simple I know it isn’t. My sister is a 25+ year pro photographer and I’ve seen her struggle with it.

I think food bloggers have really changed the style of it, the use of natural light, a more casual look to the food (instead of every grain of rice perfectly styled) and little to no in-edible ingredients. When I was in school in the ‘80’s I thought no way!! But it is a lot of fun now!

I’m a big fan of natural light myself. I’m usually out and around with the camera during the “perfect hours” in the morning and evening.

My sister has made her living as a portrait photographer but I really dislike it most of the time. I have been picking up some work taking team photos for little league teams etc.
