Well it has the 8th highest circulation in the country.
Just correcting for accuracy.
I will never understand that silly term bantered around by the (failed?)LSM -- failed Vice-Presidential candidate --
Heck .. Walter Mondale was a failed (sitting) Vice-Presidential candidate in 1980, as well as failed Presidential candidate in 1984 .. John Edwards failed VP and Pres candidate, Bob Dole (failed) VP 1976; (failed) Pres 1996 .. the list goes on and on thruout American history, but the LSM only focus on Sarah Palin!
Silly really
Your thinking of another strip.
I am thinking that there is a substantial segment of liberal opinion that understands that the only way Obama wins is if Palin goes third-party. Which would explain all these new “defenders” Palin seems to be acquiring.
Lots of bird cages in Chicago? :-)
Yes, the penguin was Berkeley Breathed’s Bloom County creation, Opus.
Trudeau was funny in his much younger days, though. He wasn’t as ideological, and could see humor on both sides. Those days are long gone.
Ah. Doonesbury. Another liberal strip.
As I said, it was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
You forgot she shoots kittens and puppies. From her SUV. In front of children.
Only those for whom the 60s never ended.
Egads! When did they impose “standards of fairness”?
For a long time the Tribune was a stalwart Conservative paper. They endorsed George W. Bush both times I think.
She quit her job as governor. If Gov. Palin does run, we’d better get used to these facts, regardless of circumstance.
I think this is a publicity stunt. We’ve heard enough of this stuff that it shouldn’t bother us any more, and if it still bugs her, she ought not to be in politics.
The Boston Globe long ago shunted Doonsbury from front above the fold in the comic section to below the crosswords in the back in favor of Dilbert.
Trudeau is just a worn out, left wing cheap shot artist who bases his story lines on the Democrat’s false accusations against conservatives. If Howard Dean and Al Gore could draw, they would compete with Doonesbury.
“Does anyone even read Doonsbury?”
Luckily, the fishwrapper I read carries Mallard Fillmore in addition to Doonsebury. I skip Doonsebury but always read Mallard - it’s great. Funny, the paper I read is owned by the NY Slimes and very liberal.
Give the ChiTrib credit where it is due.
Here is one of America’s leading papers punishing a cartoonist for overstimulating the editor’s gag reflex.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A MAJOR PAPER HAS NOT SUPPORTED THE COLLECTIVIST/DEMOCRATIC LINE ! ! ! !
I never heard or read Geraldine Ferraro referred to as failed VP candidate.
