This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife. His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears. Even The New York Times called this book dated, petty, and that it chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.

This fury in Todd's statement is palpable. Todd probably wishes that McGinniss was still holed up next door so that he could walk over and beat the living crap out of him.

Fortunately for the Palin’s the book is going to have the exact opposite effect McGinniss wanted. That level of sleaze makes people run the other way.

This issue is out of the political relm and becomes personal i.e. about him and his family. This is not against Sarah, but as his role as "protector" he comes out with a statement vs. Sarah of which it would be viewed as political and further fodder to ask the old loaded Groucho Marx type follow on question(s) i.e "for $50 tell me why you stopped beating your wife".
They are not taking their rancid bait...

Normal people aren’t going to buy McGinniss’ garbage and they definitely aren’t going to want his garbage in their homes. Therefore, he’s going to have to rely on the haters to make his garbage a bestseller. Good luck with that Joey. If I were Palin, I’d sue your goatsmelling ass off for using me and my family to try to make yourself rich.

And what about Glen Rice - shouldn't his statements be considrered libel/slander? - isn't it against the law to publicly accuse someone without proof?

Fortunately for the Palins the book is going to have the exact opposite effect McGinniss wanted Exactly. Just taking my own case, I had been critical of Palin for how she is playing whether or not she jumps into the GOP race. Then this sleazy trash came out and it reminded me of why I admire her so much and how angry I am at the Left for their unprecedented campaign to destroy her.

McGinness appears to have managed to get his children and grand-children subjected to a substantial amount of abusive language.
Which, of course, he relishes.
Not everybody wants their kids subjected to that sort of thing. They weren't even able to go outside to play in Alaska last Summer.

Even some of the freaks at DU are disavowing this piece of junk. Some, of course. Others are revelling in it. The left is sickly obsessed with sex. It gives me the creeps.

I’d hate to be McGinniss if Todd every meets him on a quiet street. Todd is a true gentleman, and his fury is understandable.
In political terms, the only thing to do with this sort of smearing lie is ignore it, or you give it weight. The more it gets reported on, the more the headline gets a hold on the casual reader - people remember headlines, not the story, so not hugely happy about seeing this running.
But:
This is a devoted husband and honorable man defending his wife from lies and smears - completely different rules from politics, though inevitably it will be politicised beyond belief.
Heck, if I was there in that hypothetical quiet street, I’d hold his coat while he took care of some business, then swear blind we’d been in a different county the whole time.

When I watched Sarah’s Alaska series, I was completely struck by Todd Palin’s enormous charisma. His persona jumped off the tv screen. Quite a duo, these two Palins.
