Yes, I thought of Ms. St. John a few seconds after I hit the "Post" button. I've only seen her in the Bond movie. She was very, very pretty.
I believe it was in a scene in Diamonds Are Forever that the villian gazes at her -- as she walks away from him in a bikini -- and says, under his breath, "if only they were brains." Funny irony. I suspect Broccoli had the line put in on purpose. Inside joke.
I also remember St. John from the bad sci-fi film The Lost World (around 1960) when she was very young.
After Diamonds I can't recall seeing her anywhere.

I think one of the things about the very smart actresses is that they don't make as many stupid life choices as the more typical Hollywood cuties. As a result, they have more financial and personal options as they age, and they aren't willing to put up with the degree of Hollywood nonsense that the dumber ones, who have little choice in the matter.
That, and the fact that smart people find it more difficult to let go of self-consciousness -- their "inner eye" never blinks -- and this interferes with their ability to really give themselves entirely to a part.

I think Jaclyn Smith is a conservative, and she also seems like a genuinely nice person.
She was very appealing in Bullitt, and in The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, in which she plays the daugter of the character played by Victoria Principal (kind of strange, but it's only a movie).
She doesn't get enough screen time in either, particularly in Bullitt, but she's a heartbreaker even so. Also, in Bullitt, she doesn't have to cover up her beautiful English accent.

My grandad married Karen Valentine’s mom in my living room. Karen was there with her husband for the ceremony. Nice lady. I was six or so at the time.
Marriage didn’t last 18 months. I’ve seen pictures of Karen and husband sitting on a davenport in our living room.
We always watched ‘Room 222’.
There are exceptions, of course. Rare but spectacular. I'm thinking here of Meryl Streep in The Deer Hunter. Ms. Streep is not in the same league, beauty-wise, as Jill St. John, but her character (Linda) is heart-rending and unforgettable. I don't know where Ms. Streep ranks in terms of IQ points, but I think she's no dummy.
I know she's a big lefty, but so was Steve Jobs.

Louise English was my favorite “Benny Hill” girl. Ive been trying to google/youtube the cruise ship scene where she sang “Pour un flirt avec toi.” But I can’t find it :-(
