I'll focus solely on Kentucky since that's the state I'm most familiar with. By all rights, this ought to be a Conservative state since most of the population is pro-God, pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family and has little tolerance for the homosexual atheist agenda. Most Kentuckians that I know are fiscally responsible and don't like government intervening in their lives. The election of Rand Paul is an example of the inherent Conservatism of Kentucky in my opinion.

So it strikes me as odd that Kentucky turns its back on freedom by being a forced-union state. What's probably going on in the Bluegrass State is the chokehold that the United Mine Workers still has on Kentucky. The UMW has a long history of strong-armed tactics and corruption going back to the era of John L. Lewis. I surmise that the power of the UMW is such that even a presumptively Conservative state Kentucky hasn't yet become Right to Work.

That's my take. As for the other states, I don't have the knowledge of them that I do of Kentucky.

Perry: "I’m not going to Washington D.C. to make any
        friends"

Me: "Too bad he has gone to Mexico City to make friends.
And he remains unrepentant over it!"
You: "Oh I know! Having good relations with one of your largest trade partners... How stupid is that?"

When America has even more enemies in Mexico City than in Washington, is an inbalanced trade relationship, profiting a minority of Americans at the expense of the vast majority of Americans, your only criteria for frienship?

See posts 26, 27, 29, 31, 36 & 42 for details and you may be able to answer your own question?
