America the “Amazing”

President Obama still doesn’t grasp the idea of American exceptionalism. Many of us remember his comment in a press conference in Strasbourg in 2009 when reporter Ed Luce from the Financial Times asked the President about it. Obama’s response:

“I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism…”

While not necessarily in response to Obama’s remarks, the inestimable Bill Whittle hit the ball right out of the park with his video on the subject.

Clearly, the President doesn’t follow Mr. Whittle, because more than two years later, he is still unclear on the concept. Last week, while the President was in New Hampshire, he again expressed his amazement that other nations would still be looking to America as their shining example:

“I was just traveling in Asia over the last week, and let me tell you, this is the fastest-growing region in the world. But what was amazing was how everybody still looked to America. They did a poll in Asia. They said, what do you think about America compared to China? Eight out of nine countries in Asia, they said, America is the country that we look to.”

And why do you suppose that is? Is it because of Dear Leader Obama?

Of course not. It’s because the concept of America is still the quintessence of liberty, that shining city on the hill, that beacon of freedom whose radience still illuminates and beckons those who wish to be bathed in its light.

People like Obama will always be amazed by how popular America is, regardless of how often they apologize for her faults. They will never understand — deep down in the gut — just what it is that makes this nation so great.

And when you’re the President of this great land and you don’t understand such a fundamental concept, that’s just sad.

UPDATE: The amazing Star Parker had similar thoughts today.

Sad? Roadkill puppies are sad. This the the leader of the free world with no comprehension of the title.
I am not sad because of Obama’s presidency. I am outraged that a man who lacks integrity, intelligence and who despises this country was elected.
The horrid ignorance of Americans is not sad. It is appalling.
We must rebuild this nation from the ground up, beginning with the churches, followed by the schools, resulting in the election of genuine patriots.

Sad?
Yes, as in...disappointing, inferior and/or pathetic.

“I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism…”

I guess that’s supposed to strike us as magnanimous and enlightened.

N O T!!

• Those weren’t Greeks handing British troops their a%$ at Yorktown
• Those weren’t British defying the elements, disease, danger and everything else to tame and settle the west
• Those weren’t Greeks OR Brits hammering a wild empty continent into the political/economic powerhouse it has become.
• Those weren’t Greeks flying a life line into Temple off
• That wasn’t Greek or British nuclear savvy that put a stop to WWII in Asia and kept the peace in Europe during the cold war

I don’t know… how long or clear does this list have to be? I could sit here all day spelling it out for “O”.

Our ‘President’ is a MORON!

I think Eric Hoffer said soemthig like:

‘The common man eloped to the Unites States of America. Mr. Jefferson and his friends re invented politics...then Carnegie, Ford and Rockerfeller took it from there.’

More than the gut, but also the brain must know.

The real distinction between America and the rest of the world is the foresight of the founding fathers and our Constitution.

The rule of law and the rights of man flowing from God, not government distinguish the USA from every other country.

Property rights, individual liberty, religious freedom, the Bill of Rights all aspects of making America great.

I have been all over the world, and I thank God every day that I was born in America.
