What I find ironic is that the Giuliani ‘zotting’ was based a lot (not entirely) on his real messed up personal life and affairs.

What is your source of this, according to your profile you joined FR a mere three weeks ago.

You're not a retread are you?

Sure he was more liberal but as a long time reader of FR I remember a lot of posts about Giuliani being an adulterer and such and social conservatives were (rightfully) outraged.

Rudy is a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual liberal.

I am no Romney supporter, but I just wonder, if somehow he gets elected and then governs as a conservative whether Jim Rob would do a mea culpa and allow some of these posters back in.

I think the correct term for you is "concern troll."

People can say whatever they want, but it was a TERRIBLE idea to place the command center at the WTC, the fact that the FBI also was there only means that the Clinton Justice Department was equally incompetent.

I said this four years ago, and I'll say it again, I have NEVER seen anything indicating that any political party ever suggested that Husband Kimmel seek higher office.

I understand the wisdom of rallying against a candidate. I don't understand the wisdom of rallying behind a candidate.

Silly, naive old me thinks the duties of the president should be to oversee the operations of the United States government.

That was a ‘I know, let’s place the command center at the most prominent location possible!’ moment.

Better idea would have been to have it in some quiet, unobtrusive spot tucked away under tons of concrete.
Heck, there are subway tunnels unused since the early 1900’s that could have been beefed up and used for a command center.

The “end of the Cold War” lulled some into a false sense of security.
During the Cold War, the command center would have been in a bunker like structure designed to survive.

Successful generals ALWAYS locate their headquarters far back from where they think the front line of battle will be, they've been doing this for thousands of years and their reason for it.

One of the things that bothers me, and frankly has kept me from joining here is the way new posters are treated. It is like a clique in High School all over again. Already my join date is referenced as if that somehow invalidates anything I say.

Can someone simply read FR for its great news content jump in and have a conversation with like minded people ? Geez

These terms used by grown ups like ‘concern Troll” sound so much like little children and the mean things they say to each other out of spite. I am just banging my head on Gingrich, I just don’t get the support for him, I would rather lose supporting a Santorum than win supporting someone like Gingrich.

Well, we all had to deal with it once upon a time.

Already my join date is referenced as if that somehow invalidates anything I say.

Because you referred to events that took place four and a half years before you joined.

Can someone simply read FR for its great news content jump in and have a conversation with like minded people ?

Sure, but I NEVER considered the Rooty Rooters to be "like minded" people.

I don't no of anyone "supporting" Newt's divorces, but remember that Reagan was also a divorcee and that worked out just fine.

********************************

Considering the magnitude of Giuliani's mistake, it's rather incredible that he had the nerve to run for the presidency. Add to that his penchant for cross-dressing and participating in homosexual parades, and it is difficult to understand why he thought he had a chance of convincing Republicans outside of New York City to vote for him. He is clearly far too insulated from the lives of the majority of Americans.

“Time to close ranks behind Romney. “

We already have a pro abortion, socialized medicine liberal in the White House.
Republicans need to offer an alternative to Obama; not someone just like him.

You're right. And isn't that scary!

especially as to the judgment of whether a candidate is conservative.

Well you are gone, but I have to respond...

FR is the most likely place to have those who can determine of a candidate is Conservative.

So to say Mitt is conservative either requires ignorance or an agenda...

I believe President Reagan did not leave his wife (2 times) for another woman (2 times). Frankly I am uncomfortable having Gingrich and Reagan in the same conversation, unsavory to my mind.

I have a suspicion there is more to these divorces and it will probably -or should- make a real conservative very sad they went all in on this guy.

i only referred to Giuliani because I watched with amusement people getting all twisted here over that issue, hardly a post went by with either Giuliani dressed like a woman or post about him cheating on his wife.

I hope that this all gets sorted out soon as this site looks to be getting pretty nasty over who is supporting who. I am not a Romney supporter (I would probably vote for Santorum) but I am very underwhelmed by this whole process.

It is disgusting and intellectually dishonest to compare Reagan, who was divorced against his will, to a serial adulterer.
