How did Bradley Manning ever get into a position to control 700,000 secret military files?

Contrary to what Ron Paul says, Bradley Manning is neither a hero nor a patriot. He is a traitor who has placed our fighting men and women in great danger. He is also deeply disaffected and confused homosexual who has serious misogynistic tendencies. He can’t stand women. The Army’s folder of reports about his conduct proves it.

A source quoted in militarycorruption.com who has attended his treason trial in Fort Meade Maryland, says Manning thinks of himself as a woman in a man’s body, and even created his own female persona he calls Breanna Manning.

Moreover he is given to fits of hysteria and is prone to violence toward female supervisors. The official records include a description of Manning having punched his female supervisor in the face.

In spite of his flighty and unacceptable conduct the army’s poster boy for ending Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was put in charge of 700,000 sensitive and secret files pertaining to our military’s plans in Afghanistan and other theaters of war. How did this happen?

Who looked at this maladjusted little twerp and said, “Oh boy THIS is guy America should trust her secrets to!”?

During the time Manning was in charge of America’s secrets, he sent up one red flag after another. Jihrleah Showman the female supervisor Manning punched recognized he was unstable and therefore untrustworthy early in their professional relationship.

She has testified to specifically explaining what she was seeing in Manning’s irrational conduct to her superior Sgt. First Class Paul Adkins and Adkins’ seeming indifference to her concerns. Now Adkins has taken the 5th Amendment when questioned under oath about why he left Manning in place with his hands on our future.

These facts raise several questions about Adkins and the unit Manning was working in…

It’s hard to believe his Background Investigation for a TS Clearance did not alert the military. He should never have been granted a security clearance. But someone in the Pentagon probably determined that it would be “discriminatory” to deny him a clearance even though he liked to wear women’s dresses.

Yup.

All minorities protect and promote their own.

IMHO, of course.

Did he have a TS clearance or just Secret? I thought all the data he downloaded was from SIPRNet, which is classified SECRET.

He wasn’t put “in charge” of the documents, he only had access.

This question was already addressed. The Army was in DIRE need of bodies when Manning came along. The decision was made to keep him in as a direct consequence.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/28/bradley-manning-video-transcript-wikileaks

“It was a fact that in 2007 recruiting numbers were the lowest they had ever been. They were lowering recruitment standards like crazy. I mean, facial tattoos, too tall, too short, too fat, criminal record – it didn’t matter. They even upped the age limit. You could be 42 years old and still enlist for basic training. It was take everybody you could get. Keep hold of everybody you can get. Bradley Manning should never have cleared any of those hurdles to even get into the military. And then he is in and it is a colossal failure and everyone knows it.”

I can understand the military needed the numbers, what I don’t understand is why they didn’t put him in a job where he could do no harm- or at least a lot less harm. I am pretty sure the military has never ending amounts of meaningless paperwork someone has to do- why let him any where near anything of any importance?

And he was a PFC. An E-3. How does a PFC get access to this kind of sensitive massive amounts of info?

Obviously, a “security clearance” doesn’t mean what it used to mean.

Yes. I worked with a bulldyke who hired only people who were exactly like her. And defended them to the nth degree, no matter how big a screw up they were.

It was a very angry workplace as those people she hired hated both men and especially women. It was just awful.

H*ll, given today’s mores he should be elected President as he has all the attributes necessary; he is a pervert traitor.

Because they needed intel analysts. He must have chosen that job, passed the tests and voila; off he goes. As for his “problems” disqualifying him, once again its been made clear that the need for soldiers overrode questions of quality or appropriateness. Some of us called out Rummy the Dummy’s dumbing down policies back then but were attacked by the bots. Inevitable consequences people.

Homosexuality, regardless of what the queer-dominated APA says, is a mental illness. You can’t trust crazy people in sensitive positions with access to that kind of information.

it seems invariable that homosexuals populate the high security risk class.

It is strange given how reports said he was on social sited advocating hommosexuals in the military.

The next president needs to restate DO ask and DO expel.

If you have the right clearance and database access, which is simply a requirement for most jobs, you have access to all these records and more. It’s not a conspiracy. In fact, it’s entirely routine. Any Private working in these jobs will have access to this sort of thing. I worked in this line of work for many years, including Iraq and Afghanistan. There’s nothing unusual at all about his accesses.

In fact, Manning was more of a general analyst. The more specialized analysts of his same pay grade often have access to more sensitive pools of information.

It’s just how things are done now. Modern warfare is based on networked, collaborative information sharing. We have too much information that is classified, to the point that it is impossible to get anything done without ensuring relatively smooth access to vast amounts of data once you’re on the inside.

There may have been a dire need of warm bodies, but they could have put him on permanent KP or something.

After this first broke, I read that he had actually been demoted for some unnamed offense. How the hell did he keep his security clearance? And how did he get it in the first place.

The answer, of course, is that the army periodically gets badly screwed up. Bush inherited a badly screwed up system from clinton, and didn’t do much to fix it, as was the case with the CIA, the FBI, the Justice Department, and just about all the other branches of government.

Security clearances should be a whole different matter, but evidently that has gotten screwed up to.

Not only did this jerk keep his clearance, but they apparently forgot about the most basic principle, “Need to Know.” Because he was supposed to be working on confidential matters in Afghanistan, but for some still unknown reason he was given access to ALL the State Department communications with Ambassadors around the world.

Not even someone in the State Department should have that kind of access. Access should be limited to what is actually needed, and that stuff had zero relevance to his job.
