Obama’s laughable compromise on health mandate
The Orange County Register blog Orange Punch ^ | 2-10-2012 | Mark Landsbaum

President Barack Obama has been hammered lately over his health mandate that every employer must provide insurance coverage for contraception, abortifacients and even sterilization, things many religious people find to be sinful, according to the tenets of their faith.

As our editorial today points out, this is an egregious violation of First Amendment guarantees to the exercise of religious beliefs when the state demands people act against their beliefs. The White House today has suggested a compromise, which is transparently absurd...

Anyone who expected a true compromise from this jerk hasn't been paying attention.

Obama is a punk. He doesn't compromise.

The White House today has suggested a compromise

So what's the compromise?

Can you summarize it here? If not, why not?

Maybe the Catholic church can offer him a (tongue in cheek) compromise back?

That if he completely disavows his attacks on the church and gives up his worship of idols and false gods, instead of going to Hell he can go to Purgatory for a year to get used to the idea.

This whole thing is a dumbshow for the suckers. Obamacare in its entirety is an unconstitutional power grab by the government. By using the Leninist tactic of “two steps forward one step back”, Obama will entice the Catholic Church to accept a “compromise” that actually moves the ball permanently in a statist direction. It will mean conceding the basic premise that Obama is the one who gets to draw the boundaries. Once that’s established, it’s no longer a question of limiting government power, but one of limiting personal rights. Game over.

Work > contracted benefits > insurance > your co-pay.

So, now,

No co-pay for those who can’t pay, coming from all pooled resources, but your co-pay is now higher > Insurance > contracted benefits > work.

Thou shalt have no other gods, money, food, housing, health or money before him.

Ask for 150% of what you want, compromise and get 100% of what you want AND look like a reasonable person!

Obama has improved on the old Marxist ploy by not taking the one step back, just pretending he is.

The arrogant richard needs to be obliterated this November.

My small business health insurance premiums went up 40% in January. Thanks Obama.

Next year, when my insurance has to cover contraception, 26 year old children of employees, and everything else that Obama wants to stick into it, I will not be able to afford to provide insurance at all.

This is, of course, the the intended result. Make private health insurance so prohibitively expensive that everyone ends up having to join the government Obamacare single payer plan.

don’t be fooled by the marxist,He Has NO AUTHORITY TO COMPROMISE ANY OF OUR GOD GIVEN CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS PERIOD.
He should have apologized for trampling on the constitution and left it at that, instead he doubles down and demands private companies provide all this crap for free, where the hell does he think he gets the authority to do that? HE WINS ,the taxpayers Christians included now get to PAY FOR ALL OF IT.
WAKE UP AMERICA HE CAN’T EXPOSE WHO HE IS ANYMORE THAN HE HAS NOW!

The damned Marxists are just blindly DETERMINED that Joe-taxpayer is going to pay for abortions! This entire administration is an abominable insult to common sense, and certainly makes a shameful statement to the entire world about who America has become.

As originally proposed the Obama mandate required even religious employers to offer such insurance coverage. Now as its faux “compromise,” it will require all insurance companies to offer such coverage, which means any insurance a religious employer purchases will contain it.

Nothing has changed. The employer has no say in what benefits they provide and abortion is now a means of "contraception". The question is will the RCC swing back to obama with this "compromise". Evangelical Christians aren't in play so it really won't matter how they respond.

The messiah can claim he forced (with no authority at all to do this) insurance companies to cover “Woman’s Health Issues” at no charge but the truth is, in the real world it will be in the price of the premium and nobody should let this Marxist get away with this lie. No business can afford to give stuff away for free. It is always buried somewhere in the cost.

Just where in the US Constitution is the President allowed to make this mandatory? We cannot wait for the Senate to impeach this POS. We as citizens must demand his removal from office in handcuffs as he is violating his oath to uphold the Constitution and we do not demand it who will?

This is single payer via mandates.

Somebody cue the “Its a fake” picture.

If he is re-elected, he's vindicated, and it means that the current generation of American voters no longer cares about the Constitution or fundamental rights.

Obama is hoping that this mandate will win more votes from women (for giving them "free" birth control) than he will lose from people who believe in freedom of conscience.

This is single payer via mandates.

Exactly right.

The insurance companies will be converted into arms of the govt. They will have no say in what they provide. In the end all policies will be the same.

We have a huge problem in overcoming this idea that "people have a right to demand someone else provide the things they want". I have yet to hear any commentators, church officials, or conservative politicians make the point that it is the owner of the business that determines what compensation/benefits they want to offer because it is their business. I think property rights/ownership rights have gone out the window with the class warfare arguments and even Pubs think it's a losing proposition to fight for these principals.
