These are awesome and I have seen them before but they really put things in perspective. They have a way of taking down all the talking points!!
These were honest answers to genuine questions. I am proud of all their answers If you dont become involved, at least become informed.
At a time when our president and other politicians tend to apologize for our countrys prior actions, heres a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our country.
These stories are good reminders of how proud and thankful we should always be as Americans...

What seems to have caused you to excerpt your own material?
What has forced you to try to divert Free Republic’s traffic to your blog?
So you signed up a few weeks ago purely to pimp your blog.
You have never even posted on freerepublic as an individual.
That is sleazy, and unAmerican.
Thank you for this! This is PERFECT for Free Republic patriots. Thank you for the encouraging piece! I had NEVER seen this, can you believe it. MORE! MORE!
I have passed it along to my entire address book!
If anyone picks a fight with your fine post, it says more about them than it will ever hope to say about you.
THANK YOU!
This would have been AWESOME and PATRIOTIC if you had in fact POSTED IT HERE but you didn’t.
This would have been AWESOME and PATRIOTIC if you had in fact POSTED IT HERE but you didn’t.
Look, I get the breach of etiquette, but when you’re at war, a few rules get bent once in awhile, but when it is for feeding the weary troops, I can live with it a time or two.
JR will take care of anything that actually matters.
A little bitty suggestion.Join in the vigorous and robust debates here on this great site.Don't be afraid to say something that others may not agree with.That's what FR is all about.Join in the fun and welcome new comer.
This guy is a sleaze bag.
This 'guy' is a woman. A youngster by my scale. A newbie here but she seems sincere and has pride in our nation and her family's service in our Military.
So, take her to the woodshed if you must. But try teaching a bit rather than just driving by and slinging invectives like she p!$$3d in your Wheaties or something.
JR will take care of it if he deems the activity blog pimping.
How do you know? The blog is not all that sleazy.
The blog beats, by miles, your poor case punctuated with such BIG words. “Sleaze bag” hardly applies to another patriot’s first time post.
Who made you the arbiter of propriety? After all, FR clearly saw the [.com ] handle that was being used by this poster when they signed up?
She has you doing her bidding, she herself has never responded to a freeper, ever, she pimps her blog and moves on.
See post 12.
I agree with you.
And I notice the original poster hasn’t even responded to anybody on her own thread yet.
” JR will take care of it if he deems the activity blog pimping. “
That’s what I said too.
For some FReeper to leap to the conclusion that JR has his feet kicked up somewhere poolside, with his shades perched on his nose, and is oblivious to a tresspass is a bridge too far on the judgement train.
The woman is beautiful, her blog is awesome and the post alone was more than many of us have ever offered up.
These stories are good reminders of how proud and thankful we should always be as Americans:
JFKS Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60′s when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO.. DeGaule said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded, Does that include those who are buried here? DeGaule did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When in England , at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.
He answered by saying, Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break,one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraftcarrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships;how many does France have?
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, Maybe its because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldnt have to speak German.
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
You have been to France before, monsieur? the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr.. Whiting admitted that he had been to Francepreviously.
Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.
The American said, The last time I was here, I didnt have to show it.
Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldnt find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you are proud to be an American, pass this on!
This ain't a dating site, toots.
lol....
Is anyone required to? She could be a troll in training setting up a persona...or she could be on the level. Time will tell.
Required to?
