2008
Happy Rain

Posted on 03/05/2012 3:57:15 PM PST by Happy Rain

Approaching the convention in 2008 the choices left were three RINOs--Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and John McCain. The filthy rich from crony Capitalism GOP liberal establishment made sure that real conservatives like Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson were used to split the conservative vote and then were left to die on the no donations vine.

These same GOP establishment socialist fellow travelers are now pushing Romney and though I supported Mitt as the less Left of the three then I oppose him as the most Left of the three now.

Newt, Rick and even The Nut are better than Mitt--this is an appeal to the solid conservatives of Super Tuesday--and to the patriots of Virginia--don't give the RINO bastards that run your state Republican Party the satisfaction of giving the commonwealth to Mendacious Mitt--give The Nut your vote and we will love you for it!~

Fun facts:

Mike Huckabee was endorsed in 2008 Iowa by Duncan Hunter.

And John McCain was endorsed soon after a couple more early states by Romney & Thompson.

All had their opinions of who was the least Leftist of the GOP Leftists— the lesser of three evils as it were—Hell, solid conservative Rick Santorum endorsed the liberal Mitt Romney!

2008 was a debacle where those who knew Obama were desperate to stop or slow him even if they had to endorse RINOs.

Freerepublic and Duncan Hunter supported Huckabee over Romney.

Romney was the most liberal candidate of 2008.

“Solid conservative” Santorum supported Romney in 2008, and the radical pro-abortion candidate Arlen Specter in 1996.

Rick Santorum was pro-abortion until 1990, and first ran as a “Progressive Conservative”, and that is what he had printed into his campaign materials and campaigned on, “The Progressive conservative”.

THIS is the campaign that Santorum was supporting in 1996:
“For Specter, who later became a Democrat, his pro-abortion-rights position was a centerpiece of his campaign. Specter believed that anti-abortion activists were a “fringe” group hijacking the Republican party.

“There are clearly more Republicans who are pro-choice,” Specter told Newsday’s Susan Page. “Up until now, I am the only person willing to take on the fringe.” After Specter dropped out of the race, he led an ill-fated movement to change the anti-abortion provision in the Republican party platform.”

Not today but Saturday—I posted a factually correct yet, I suppose, racially insensitive comment on the first one—at least according to the Mods so it was obliterated—too unPC for FR as Glenn Beck was too unPC for Fox News.

But I submit to FR justice because even though they are not 100% conservative purists they are still the best there is.

Yeah, these people trying to cover themselves for being romneybots in 2008, are still in effect, posting for Romney, whether they intend it that way or not.

They are trying to sell Romney as a pretty good candidate for 2008, as the best of the three finalists of the Republican primary, preceding the one we are engaged in right now.

Oh heck, let the Republican establishment put Romney up. He, of course, will be defeated, but I don’t think that the powers-that-be in the Republican Party really care. One thing’s for sure: they never learn.

This election, unfortunately, is going to see Obama given another four years to screw us. But if that’s what the American public wants, that’s what they—and we—get

It really is time for a conservative party of substance. The Republican Party no longer represents us.

Yeah, we have to forgive some....

I chose to forgive Cain and Santorum for being sucked into the Darkness of Willardism.

But I was, of course hoping for Duncan or Rubio (BOTH Huck endorsers in Iowa) to complete an unbeatable Huck/Duncan or Huck/Rubio ticket in November.

Oh well, there is always 2020. But may have to go with Duncan’s son, if not Marco as veep.

If I change the harsh, first half of the first sentence in post 8, then I think that I finally came up with the description that I have been looking for, for a long time.
