Breitbart News Network announced Monday the group of executives who will run the company in the absence of founder Andrew Breitbart, who died unexpectedly this month at age 43.
Laurence Solov, one of Breitbart's closest friends and the company's legal counsel has been elevated to president and CEO, positions that Breitbart had held. Solov, a Stanford University and UCLA Law School alumna, has served on the company's board of directors since its inception.
"Our goal in 2012 is to continue Andrew's project, 'The Vetting,' which examines the president, his rivals and the mainstream media," Pollak said. "We will continue to drive the national debate by promoting the 'citizen journalism' that was Andrew's unique vision and his enduring legacy to American media."
Stephen Bannon, the filmmaker responsible for the pro-Sarah Palin movie The Undefeated, has been named executive chairman. Bannon, a former naval officer with masters degrees from Georgetown University and Harvard Business School, was a mergers and acquisitions investment banker at Goldman Sachs and has also been a Breitbart News board member since its founding.
Ben Shapiro was named editor at large. Shapiro, a graduate of UCLA and Harvard Law School, was once the nation's youngest syndicated columnist. He's the author of Primetime Propaganda, a book that tries to make the case that liberal political agendas are inserted into TV shows.
Joel Pollak, a Harvard Law School graduate who once worked for famed attorney Alan Dershowitz, was named editor in chief. Pollak recently generated controversy during a CNN discussion about "critical race theory" with Soledad O'Brien, an episode that led the news anchor to ask viewers to stop Tweeting her on the topic and to Wikipedia locking down her page for a few days.
Breitbart News also named as its managing editor Alex Marlow, a four-year veteran of the company and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
Breitbart News employs 20 people nationwide, primarily at its headquarters in West Los Angeles.
All I wanna’know is where are the tapes that were going to be so horribly damaging to the grifter who lives in our White House? Hannity was bragging about how he was going to play the FULL tape, teasing his audience on the day of the showing, and then I heard that he showed a cut version instead of the highly damaging one. In other words, Hannity lied.
So, Brietbart is “murdered” a day before he is supposed to have released these tapes, he gets murdered, and everything stops.
So far, I’ve seen and heard nothing that would appear to be a final knife in the political back of this impostor in our White House.
So what gives? What’s the status of these dozens of tapes?
Still hard to believe. I really liked him
Chill... its coming...
It looks as if those in his organization will carry the franchise forward.
Good luck to them.
What's coming? Piecemeal, full unedited tapes? Enough to crush the head of this disgusting Kenyan-born illegal alien?
Boy I hope so. The first tape was unimportant..
Come on now. Andrew Breitbart died ‘unexpectedly’. You should just accept like everyone else apparently has. and yes...this is somewhat /s
No one outside the Breitbart org. knows, but what we all do know is if what they have is any good... it needs to be held until just before the election.
Patience Grass hopper.
I am the least sophisticated of all here on this forum and yet even i believe I get how critically important that tape and revelation was.
Critical in laying the foundation and connecting the dots between his administrations Marxist philosophies and the actual programs being put in place to further those ideology.
If most, as you believe, that tape was irrelevant, then surely the cause of democracy as we knew it in America years ago is lost forever.
I saw a headline in the supermarket, the National Examiner had a picture of Obama and Brietbart and the headline contained the word murder.
So I thought maybe the autopsy had been released.
Unimportant was a poor choice of words. It wasn’t earth shattering. It will take more than that to change peoples opinion of the Won.
Before Breitbart’s sudden death, I thought more tapes were supposed to come out in 7 -10 days.
I can imagine that with Breitbart’s death, there has to be a period of time where everyone gets back on their feet.
Undoubtedly, they are mourning even as they have to restructure the company.
Sad days....difficult days.
Me, too. And, its hard to lose a warrior like Breitbart.
I like your homepage! I think mine says “Hello
there” but I haven't checked up lately.
I just think its unimportant is all.. ;0)
“Critical in laying the foundation and connecting the dots between his administrations Marxist philosophies and the actual programs being put in place to further those ideology.”
I’m hanging my hate on this, too
I’m very happy that Bannon is taking the Helm as Breitbart’s Chairman. He’s not some sissy, mushy-mouth, pencil pusher.
He’s got a sharp mind and a quick tongue. A fine addition to the team.
I look at homepage when I see moron statements on occasion. But, its irrelevant when it all comes down to it. I like to see if someone is a newbie. I lay off long time freepers for a slip of the tongue. I’ve had things misinterpreted and haven’t always been the sharpest tool in the shed. But I joined in my late 20’s, and am still here.. by the grace of god... lol
