Obama fearing a revolution against him by the states, has moved swiftly by nationalizing nearly all National Guard Forces in multiple states; Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisiana, South Carolina – to name a few.

But no link is provided to back up this key assertion.

The two Governors leading this move are: Tim Pawlenty, Governor of Minnesota; and Rick Perry, Governor of Texas.

Umm, Pawlenty is no longer governor of Minnesota...

All B Wacky has to do is Presidentially pardon all criminals. Then employ them in his private army.

Why else would he be buying up all that ammo?

The Virginia Defense Force history. The current Virginia Defense Force was established in 1985. I don't know how recent the other states started their defense forces.

Utterly silly.

The two Governors leading this move are: Tim Pawlenty, Governor of Minnesota; and Rick Perry, Governor of Texas.

Apparently whoever wrote this nonsensical conspiracy theory is not aware Tim Pawlenty is no longer governor of Minnesota.

In essence, the Governors would have “de facto control” of the United States.

Laughable. I've seen the Virginia Defense Force people at various gun shows and they wouldn't be able to take control of squat.

NC still has a military structure buried in its constitution, although its been neglected since the 1800s, along with military spending.

I seriously doubt many US military or National Guard troops would take up arms against US citizens solely on Obama’s orders. I think Obama has more to fear from US military forces deposing him by force if he tries to make himself a dictator.

There is a scene in the movie "Gods and Generals" which I suspect is an accurate portrayal of history, where General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson appears before a large mass of men wearing gray or butternut uniforms.

Jackson reads a message from Abraham Lincoln advising the state of Virginia to raise a body of troops, in case any states choose to rebel against the federal government.

Jackson stops reading the message, looks out at the men before him and says, "Tell Mr. Lincoln, we have done so!"

The lack of *relevant* citations in this article make it effectively meaningless. National Guard units have been actively involved in recent combat actions since Gulf War I under George H.W. Bush. To do so they have been put under federal command.

In fact, part of the 10th Amendment Movement is that in several states, they are so tired of their Guard being perpetually deployed that they want it returned. If the US military needs more personnel, it should hire more personnel, not loot the states for hot bodies.

But there is nothing new about this, other than Obama, at the request of the Pentagon, named the national commander of the National Guard to the Joint Chiefs. With the end of the Iraq and Afghanistan occupations, he will spend most of his time with TRADOC, just making sure that the NG are standardized and functional nationwide. No easy task.

It’s easy to forget who started all of this nationalizing of the National Guard, GW Bush. Thank him.

While on your knees thanking him, don’t forget to thank his father GHW Bush for the Americans With Disabilities Act which has forced small businesses to close, raised costs for everyone, and basically made life miserable for most.

And, of course, don’t forget to give everloving praise to Richard Nixon, who, in many ways, has made the current $4 and $5 gas possible. Without his divine insights we would have drilled our way out of this mess decades ago.

Reoublicans,always looking out for us.

A friend (deceased) was a member of the South Dakota State Guard during WWII. Its mission was primarily manning and protecting National Guard facilities which had been vacated by units called up and deployed on Federal service.

South Dakota does not currently have State Guard units. But its legal code, SDCL 33-14, provides for forming such units. And with a significant veteran population, physically filling these units would not be difficult. So if necessary, old men would answer one last call to duty with boys probably answering their first call to duty.

With the D.C. jackasses hell-bent on creating Great Depression II and WWIII, the Several States and their citizens should start looking seriously at their State Guard capability.

Umm...isn't the National Guard already under the control of the Congress ("nationalized")?

The POTUS office means nothing and is a joke when people like the Clintons and the Obamas are in the office. We need a strong and courageous adult in that office who cares about America and her people which the Clintons and the Obamas clearly do not.

I have always thought obama was there illegally.

This is fairly nutty. I don’t know about all states, bu the Georgia State Defense Force does not issue or train with weapons, or allow its members to be armed while on duty. They pretty much act as search and rescue, medical support, crowd/traffic control, etc. when needed.

It’s a great organization to volunteer for, and they do good work, but they’re unarmed and couldn’t resist anyone, let alone the U.S. Army. Not that I think the Army would actually “invade” a U.S. state in the first place, even if Obama wanted it to.
