It's a BS poll in a liberal paper but it is more than 2-1 in favor of the smart people.

In that case, look for the poll to be taken down due to “technical difficulties” or some such BS.

Funny I’ve NEVER seen a Poll that asks...

Should the United States repeal the UNCONSTITUTIONAL 16th Amendment and abolish the income tax and IRS?

Course we wouldn’t want any knee jerk reactions.

All Stand Your Ground means is that you don't have to attempt to retreat before having legal justification to use deadly force in self-defense.

I'm not quite sure how George Zimmerman - flat on his back, with Martin on top of him bashing his head against the sidewalk - could have retreated. So Stand Your Ground has utterly no relevance here, but don't expect the liberal idiots who hate the concept of self-defense to grasp that concept.

They saw an opportunity to attack improvements in self-defense laws, such as Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground. And as the facts come out, those attacks are backfiring on them, as we see here. Most Americans understand the concept of self defense just fine, and don't want the U.S. to become like Britain. Which drives liberals nuts.

From the article: "provided they tell themselves they “reasonably” believe that in doing so they are responding to a potentially lethal threat."

The author's an idiot. The 'reasonably believe' standard is subject to review and is measured against a reasonable man standard. Individuals aren't protected by Stand Your Ground merely by telling themselves they 'reasonably' believe they are responding to a potentially lethal threat.

And the author may never have read the law, because the law also applied in the case of a threat of 'great bodily harm' not just a potential lethal threat. Those who write editorials should start first by reading and understanding the subject matter about which they write.

Good afternoon.

Funny I’ve NEVER seen a Poll that asks..." Should the United States repeal the { } 16th Amendment and abolish the income tax and IRS? "

I left out, "unconstitutional." from above. It isn't. Congress, the States, and Executive should repeal both the 16th & 17th amendments. Imho, it will give the country a chance to survive...it's that serious.

And no, you won't see a poll question like that.
