Mark Levin: Paul Ryan says to rally around Romney, but why should I? Just because he said so?
the Right Scoop ^ | March 31st, 2012 | Staff

Posted on 04/01/2012 2:03:46 PM PDT by Sun

It’s very painful to watch all these politicians – even some who are conservatives, don’t get me wrong, but they’re politicians nonetheless – that we all have to rally around, rally around…

Let me tell you something. We have to rally around the Constitution. We have to rally around our children and grandchildren. We have to rally around principles, tried and true principles based on human experience. This isn’t about rallying around some politician. It’s about fighting for our country, taking our country back. This is the process.

But to hear some of these numbskulls who think they’re so smart tell us “yeah there’ve been some people out there who’ve really divided us“. Well then I guess we shouldn’t have a primary! I guess we shouldn’t look at anybody’s record! I guess we should just say ‘John McCain you’re it, Bob Dole you’re it, another Bush you’re it, eh Romney you’re it, this one’s it‘, why do we go through the process? In other words that’s just about as stupid as you can to get to make comments like that.

He goes on to suggest that just because Paul Ryan says to rally around Romney, doesn’t make him want to change his mind.

Romney accepts his role as the designated loser much as McCain and Dole did.

That would work very well with a Parliamentary system, but we don’t have one. If Mitt is the nominee, the only way to have influence is to threaten to withhold support but not rule him out entirely.

ANY Republican in the White House will be better than what we have. If conservatives refuse to vote for the Republican nominee because he is “not conservative” enough, then they will probably not have to worry about voting in 2016.

"All hail your Republican candidate, Mitt Romney! We must all close ranks and get behind him!"

I enthusiastically support Newt.

If necessary, I will gladly vote for Santorum.

If Romney is the nominee, I will reluctantly vote for him. The alternative is too horrible.

When CW2 comes - and it will - those in favor of abortion, gay marriage, and government-sponsored crony capitalism will be on one side and conservatives will be on the other - those are the choices. Which side will Mitt Romney and his supporters be on?

“Romney accepts his role as the designated
loser much as McCain and Dole did.”

Hmmm. Well, if Romney and a lot of wealthy backers
want to throw tons of money at a pre-determined
loser campaign then I may have been supporting the
wrong party for the last fifty years. Those guys
are too dumb to be that wealthy and not be Demo-
crats.

I don’t know. You should ask Mitt or one of his
supporters.

As to a final call it is neither yours nor mine
to make.

“As for the general, I can be persuaded to support him, but I’m not committed to it.”

If Mitt is the nominee, I will not be voting for the Republican candidate.

Downticket Republican candidates will get my support....No Ma liberal.... nope, never!

Of course Romney care is a disaster.

ALL Government run single payer universal health care schemes are inevitably doomed to provide horrible health care to all but the elite, result in rationing and have huge cost over runs that eventually bankrupt the system.

Britain’s National Health Care and Cuba's health care systems are models of Socialized medicine in the final stages of bankruptcy and quality of care implosion.

This is what happens when politicians and judges mandate universal health care to health care providers without actually funding to the cover the costs of treating the uninsured who never pay their bills.

We live in an entitlement minded welfare state where the “gimme” society rules.

Until we change the Welfare State entitlement mentality this and the ability of welfare minded voters to vote themselves benefits, this is what we will have to deal with.

Massachusetts has a majority of voters who want to expand entitlements and vote for expansion of the welfare state. Romney gave the Mass voters what they demanded and he would not have been elected unless he gave in.

ON ONE is going to argue that Romney was far, far better as Gov than Deval Patrick who has been a total disaster for the state.

And yet, Patrick was solidly elected to a second term in office.

Massachusetts is a truly corrupt and f**ked state from a political perspective and Romney was the closest thing the state has had to good government in a generation.

Excuse me. Instead of my switching to Romney because you say so, why don't you switch to Santorum because I say so?

Oh, and for the record - I really, really dislike Romney.

I hope and pray for a brokered convention and a better GOP candidate going forward but that is not going to happen.

We are truly faced with voting for the lesser of two evils which is not a happy place to be.

The country can survive a Romney Presidency but I am not sure it can survive a second Obama term.

The Santorum who declared Zimmerman guilty? The one who said Zimmerman has a sick mind? Just what we need in the White House. LOL

Jacquerie,

To be honest, I do not know where New stands on life, does
he approve of exceptions to abortion? I hope not, a baby
is a baby.

People don’t know or don’t care and reject the fact if you
vote for a pro-abort it becomes your grave *mortal* sin too.

The lessor of two evils if it is possible is Romney. Romney confirms his real belief by signing Romneycare which includes abortion. Show me the proof in anything new he has signed or voted for that shows he is for life? It’s all
talk.

Obama is Herod, his infanticide vote in Illinois.

Romney “the lessor of two evils”, no win, no win. Pray
for Santorum. Please God, not another presidential election
having to choose the “lessor of two evils.” It makes you sick.

Quote what you are responding to, dimwit. I have no bone in my body that would begin to tolerate Romney.

And pledge to NEVER support him in a general election. It is the only way to possibly salvage the GOP before it becomes a milder form of the DNC.

Best post of the day!

Good for you!

Vote for the lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal.

Your vote, along with every other conservative who compromises his/her principles in so doing, will be wasted as Romney is the ONLY candidate guaranteed to re-elect Obama and it won't even be close.
