The best explanation I heard was on the thread yesterday that said

I have a setup similar to what he describes. I had a similar error at one time - although different content. The system muted but when I tried to speak to it I would get bizarre text. After a few more tries I found out that although I was hitting the mic button it was taking the supposedly muted input from the Bluetooth and attempting to transcribe that. I eventually spotted the “gibberish” as morning DJ chatter.
I imagine Rush listens to political chatter rather than some inane “Morning Zoo” since he’s not trying to get info about Houston traffic.

Rush said he's off today, tomorrow and Monday for his Spring Break. He's just taking some fun time off.
I think it is just data packet loss from his weird Wi-fi hot spot setup.
Plausible explanation is a bluetooth malfunction where audio from some other source was routed through Rush’s set-up to the server that did the speech to text conversion and sent back what it heard.
Everything else I’ve read about this is pure FUD - or just tinfoil hat stuff that is with Ron Paul on nuttier than squirrel poop on a pecan farm scale of whackadoodle.

Rush reads quite well, and he is not an idiot, so don't offer up idiotic answers. The text he got back was not gibberish unlike this explanation.
That would be nice, but when you look at the actual words in the messages, it would be a pretty weird "coincidence" to have such specific messages that specifically relate to Rush. If the messages said something like, "Eat at Joe's" or, "Support Beiber Awareness," or even actual gibberish like, "Town soil perhaps yesterday capitol October..." I would think maybe, just maybe it was a "fluke."

With the amazing, mind-blowing technology we have today, it is not "whackadoodle" to realize that the ability to hack into systems like Rush's (or any systems for that matter! Pentagon?!) most certainly exists, and that is the very least of capabilities. To underestimate the powers that be is pretty whackadoodle.
