Free Republic's Jim Robinson Makes the Turn

punish RINOs in the House
I respect those who are still die-hard for beating Romney, but that is yesterday’s fight. The danger is not in seeming inconsistent–trust me; we left marks all over that Romney fellow, and he will not forget us. Maybe next time we will unseat him like we are about to do to Lugar, and a number of other RINOs. And this is the fight for today: punish RINOs in the House and especially Lugar in the Senate. Tomorrow’s fight is back to the White House to get Obama out of my chair.

their friends could use the help
Those who still toil in the fields of Newt are at great risk of becoming irrelevant, the one thing they must not become. They poke and stab at the bodies of friends and enemies alike from a long-finished battle, while their friends could use the help a valley away, where the fight is now.

to engage on the next fight, disengage from the previous
Jim at Free Republic did the right thing, and must pull his readership back together to allow Free Republic to become once more the hammer of the right. He could stand on the conservative Jihad, stabbing at thee from the heart of Hell etc etc, but the fact is, Freepers need to engage on the next fight, and in order to do that–they must disengage from the previous.

Romney has made it clear he doesn’t want my vote and I’ll honor his wishes.

You should, at the least, give a link to the thread that backs up your post. To me "party over principle" means that a person is asked to abandon their core principles merely to ensure that a Party candidate is elected to office. Usually a person has several core principles that they feel strongly about. I'm sure that you have more than one yourself.
So, to me, the question becomes which of your core principles are you going to abandon solely for the sake of Party advancement? And then a person has to ask themselves if they're ready, and willing, to abandon some of their core principles for the sake of the Party, will they abandon all of their core principles for the sake of the Party. Because as soon as you give in and abandon those principles there is a push at the next election for you to abandon even more of your principles because you did so the last time and the Party knows this.

And eventually you have to look at yourself in the mirror and realize that you have no core principles any longer as you've abandoned them over time for nothing more than a short term political victory.

I simply can't sell my birthright (eventually all of my core principles) for a mess of pottage (short term political victory) else I damn my own soul.

Do as you choose. Don't deign to tell me what I must do.

To reward the GOP establishment elite with my vote would make me a hypocrite.
Not going to happen.

The GOP establishment elitists are playing the odds: For every conservative voter they lose, they figure they will pick up 1+ squishes (”independents”). If that turns out to work for them, America’s slide down the toilet of history will never be reversed - - it will only alter the time frame.

Who in good conscience would deliberately be a part of that?

Why are you excerpting from your own blog? I am not going there to read the rest.

Ditto. Romney AND the GOP have made it clear that they are not interested in our votes or support.

If this article was intended to malign or pursuade JimRob, perhaps you could seek a better use for your efforts.

So why don’t you just post the whole column here?

You didn’t excerpt this part:

Want to bet?

Willard Romney, backstabber of Gov. Palin,
incompetent in Massachusetts for the GOP,
installer of BOTH RomneyCARE and RomneyMarriage,
friend of Soros and Mr. Etch-a-Sketch, himself,
was chosen by the DNC, the MSM,
Soros, Carter, Clinton, AND Obama.

Can any of you figure out why?

Last time I swallowed my pride and voted for Sarah and what came with her and we got Screwed. I may just write in Sarah this time. Why should I always compromise my values “for the sake of _ _ _ “?

“joe fonebone (If you vote for the lesser of two evils, you are still voting for evil.) “

If you don’t vote for the LESSER of two evils then you put the GREATER of two evils one vote ahead.

If you truly believe that Romney will do as much damage in his first (and only) term and Obama WILL DO in his second (of how many more?) term, then you have not been paying attention to Obama.

Do we need Edmund Burke to make a comment?

Pessimistic Conservatives and TEAPartiers should just go to work, ignore the Mittbots, and get Conservative Senators and Representatives a winning spot in the fall election.

Oh, yeah, and prepare to impeach the President some time in late January.

Optimistic Conservatives and TEAPARtiers should go to work, encourage the Mittbots, and still get Conservative Senators and Representatives a winning spot in the fall election.

Oh, yeah, and still prepare to impeach the President some time in late January.

HMM ~ same outcome no matter what we do ~ wonder why that is?

Well, whatever, I love those impeachments, although it'll be more fun to bring in the Mittbots for interrogation than to bring in the Obots. They are so bland and gray.

Photobucket

I call him "Millard (FIllmore) Romney" because if he gets elected he will end up leading tot he downfall of the Republican Party...

Maybe that is what we need....In the long term...

Long live the new Party, the "Tea Party"!
