Don’t talk to your neighbors without reading this!

The problem with approaching neighbors (with whom you have varying levels of familiarity) and/or total strangers nearby, is that the likelihood that you will actually convince these people to make serious efforts to prep is, unfortunately, small. The unemployment rate may be awful and European economies may teetering be on the verge of a collapse that will start a domino effect, but the average American is more interested in keeping track of who is ahead on “Dancing with the Stars.” These types are sometimes referred to as ”sheeple,” and they comprise the great mass of the American population.

So what happens if you fail to produce any changes in your neighbors’ preparedness level? Well, frankly, you have made it very obvious to everyone around you that your house is the neighborhood “supply depo.t” When an emergency occurs, your unprepared neighbors will view you as their source when they need anything if the emergency becomes very prolonged.

Even if nothing worse occurs, can you imagine the chants of “Hoarder! Hoarder!” from those standing on the street in front of your house? From their perspective, a hoarder would be anyone who was wise enough to put aside anything for hard times which they now want to share (in essence, a socialist mentality on steroids).

I had not quite focused my thought in that way, but I really think you may be on to something.

“Well then count me as a prepper heretic because I am 100% certain that all things are in God’s sovereign control.”

Sure they are, and he gave us free will.

Why did Joseph store grain? What does God say about men who don’t provide for their families? Does God delivery groceries to your house right now? If not why would you expect him to during a disaster?

Romans 9:20 (NIV) No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?”

None of my neighbors know what I have because I can’t feed all of them. I know from experience they don’t even prepare for a hurricane until the day before when there is little left in stores, and that’s what they do every time, and a number just get in their car and leave. I can’t fix the mindset they have.

Then they go into every house and if they find any food in your house they WILL shoot you in the back of the head in your OWN backyard

There will be dead agents in my entry way long before that happens. And I will also be there. Dead if necessary. I will not comply. I will never submit.

Better to die fighting than to serve on your knees.

So why is it bad to prepare against catastrophic caused by men doing evil? If I was a Jew in Germany and saw the writing on the wall and made arrangements to escape and save myself and my family am I a bad person? If I see war coming is it not my duty to try and shield them and take steps to protect them? You seem to argue both sides.

As for me I think these verses to be more relevant:
Proverbs 27:12 (NLT) ”A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.“

“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” 1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV)

In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. Proverbs 21:20

But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and doesn’t sound the alarm to warn the people, he is responsible for their deaths. They will die in their sins, but I will hold the watchman accountable. Ezekiel 33:6

Am I not my family’s watchman? If I see trouble coming it is my DUTY to make arrangements to provide for my family:

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become thier‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be herded in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

Now anyone thinking that prepping is foolish ask you what’s easier telling your children and loved ones why you prepared or explaining to them why you didn’t?

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

But then someone has to stand on the bridge waiting for FEMA to bring them a bottle of water, an MRE and a warm blanket so as to provide the Network Anchors their background ‘Money Shot’. I wonder how that will workout for them?

Somewhere near JRandomFreeper’s resturant would be a good place. “You kill it and he’ll grill it!”

I’ll Second that! (Helpings, that is...)

No. Iced tea hurts my remaining kidney (yet beer is ok, go figure) so I never have it on hand.

I can have homebrew available at a reasonable price. With specials on seasonal fruit wines. ;)

Just backwards from here. I've got a couple of geezers that need to go ahead and shuffle off this mortal coil, and a great new young neighbor that just happens to be deployed right now. It's good to have young shooters in the neighborhood that have seen the elephant.

Doggone shame what you did to my favorite show.

Where there's a shell, there's a way.

25 years ago, we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, and Bob Hope.
Today we have Obama, no cash, and no hope!

If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.

Or you can get raw with these strings.

How about this gamechanger from America's Got Talent (which they SHOULD have won).

Either way, the violin is sweet yet lethal.

Do it!

When I read their post I can’t help but think of this quote from one of my favorite westerns ’Open Range’: “Most times a man will tell you his bad intentions if you listen, let yourself hear.” I’ve ‘heard’ their intentions and they aren’t good.

You've been reading my tagline again! ;~)

Having said that, I fully acknowledge the usefulness of prepping.

So did Noah.
