John Edwards is an awful human being who cheated on his cancer stricken wife, impregnating his mistress and lying to the people of the United States...

Out of this miscarriage of justice, as expected, the Left is riding their high horse in order to shield a terrible person and slam conservatives. It would almost be shocking if it wasn't so disgusting.

...Over at the Huffington Post, it's the Republicans who are dirty, not the adulterer:

And don't forget, Edwards 'only' cheated on his dying wife! What about Buuuuuush?!

...And finally, hey, Edwards is just a straight-up good guy:

The verdict was bad news for Hillary.

She probably expected clear sailing to have the Democratic nomination in 2016. Now she has to worry about John Edwards running.

His sleaziness is probably less than hers but it's easier to understand (having an affair vs. borrowing FBI files for dirt on Republicans or accepting a $99,000 bribe [the cattle futures scandal]). Seeming to be more sleazy should give Edwards a distinct advantage in the Democratic primaries. Not to mention that Hillary will be almost 70 by then.

Bill Clinton delayed a bunch of flights while he got a haircut. Edwards is famous for his $400 haircuts—but did he ever cause flight delays for them? Not saying he didn’t but I don’t recall any cases.

I can’t see any rational reason why HRC should seek anything but $150K speaking engagements. Seriously. Why? Who needs the hassle? I realize the ego thing and all that but who’d want to take this morass of a world situation on for the proceeds of three speeches a year? And it could be the same speech every time, who’d care?

The Clintons have more money than they know what to do with already.

Hillary wants to be in charge, to control. When she considers the other people who might run for the Democratic nomination in 2016, she must think it is a weak field. Who's going to run? Eric Holder? Kathleen Sebelius? Nancy Pelosi? Deval Patrick? Christine Gregoire? Some other governor? Joe Biden? RFK Jr.? Chuck Schumer? Michelle Obama? Hardly anyone is well-known and credible.

Well, you make a certain point which I will completely acknowledge, that Hillary could quite possibly clean whomever’s clock if she DID run. Does she want the power more than the tens of millions she has and is certain to rake in over the coming years no matter what she does? None of us knows. I’m a lazy SOB, so for me, I’d bag it, take my tens of millions, and say sayonara. For her? Nobody can say, really. But I will tell you this, strictly from the massive egotism angle. A year and a half of hard campaigning and she will look like a dried turd. I don’t know if she’s ready for that.
