I don't do vanities, but I guess I do now. My wife and I were talking last night, I was complaining and she said no nation that has embraced homosexuality has stood long. This got me to thinking and meditating on His word.
Over the years, we all must admit, socialism of all stripes has taken hold of our Country. Things are getting worse. Why? We have taken God out of our daily lives. This homosexual in the military is simply one of the last strikes against God and He is removing His favor from us. All the natural disasters, the inane court rulings, the crime and blatant evil around us is a result of turning away from God.
We must Repent and pray for this nation. If we do not do that, this nation will not stand long. Possibly it will end in our lifetime, but for sure our children's. Repent and pray! That is the only way this nation will get turned around. Certainly not through politicians. God bless thru Christ Jesus, FReepers!
While we obviously cannot read the mind of the Good Lord I would not be surprised if he withdrew. The rot that has overtaken this country and its people in my life time is hard to believe.
I understand where you are coming from. I’ve had these same thoughts for a while now. In fact, I’ve gone so far as to wonder just how long He is going to put up with us as a nation. Fortunately I know my future is secure no matter what comes.
I watch this program called Wretched in the middle of the
night everyday M-F. The host (Todd Friel) was saying the
same thing. This makes me pray for the grace to accept
God’s will and to not be depressed about how vile and low
the nation’s leaders have become.
Children were being involved in the depravity of Sodom and Gomorrah, and look how that turned out.
God started to remove His Hand of GRACE from our country after ABORTION was made legal and 45-50 MILLION BABIES have been killed, the Homosexuality has been HONORED and REWARDED and almost DEIFIED, and in the mean time we have ALLOWED God and Jesus to be KICKED OUT OF THIS COUNTRY.....what does one expect?????
Idols? There are not many churches where the government is not worshipped. The vast majority of Christians look to the government to meet their needs, solve their problems and provide their security.
I need to strive to get to where you are. To accept what God has planned for me and not worry obsess over the imminent tyranny.

I think some of the phrasing going on in this thread is problematic (not blaming anyone, just saying).
Punishment and discipline/correction are 2 different things. God’s punishment for sin/wrong-doing is final, permanent, eternal. He has meted out the punishment for sin on His Son so that those who deserve it, can, by faith, appropriate God’s unmerited favor, grace. That’s the gospel. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you have your sin and its consequence removed. Reject God’s way of salvation and the penalty for your sin remains, awaiting you at the judgment seat.
God’s chastening is, as you’ve remarked, for our benefit, that we might draw closer to Him, worship Him, serve Him. “Whom the Father loves, He chastens.” One of the things that Christians need to remind themselves of again and again, myself included—I’ve been engaging (and perhaps, too strongly) in the verbal banter over the Supreme Court’s decision this week, is that this is not our home, this is not our life. The Bible tells us, “your life is hid in Christ...” and, “...Christ, who is our life...”) etc. We tend to forget that whatever befalls us here is under the watchful eye of God. If it be He calls you to martyrdom, ask for the grace to endure it. If it be He calls you to endure, ask for the grace to endure. If it be He calls you to prosper, ask for the grace to live graciously, selflessly, humbly. The Christian needs to remember this life, these 70 - 80 years, with their disappointments, sorrows, sadness, suffering, are not to be compared to the glory which shall follow.
Now, as to His removing His hand of protection from America, I see it like this: we are living in the day of His grace. Whosoever will may come. Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. All can come to Christ, but not all do. That being said, there is a concerted effort to rise up against the things of God and Christ going on today INCLUDING IN OUR OWN COUNTRY which, for all intents and purposes, pushes the hand of God’s grace away. His grace has been cast out of our schools, out of our public discourse, and, sadly, out of our churches. America is no longer a humble, but a proud people. God resists the proud. America is no longer a just people. God hates injustice. America is no longer a God-fearing people. Love of this world is enmity with God.
We are witnessing God’s grace experiencing diminished returns on a national scale. But God is still gracious and kind to those who love His Son.
Deuteronomy 17:15-
“Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose; one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee; thou mayest not set a STRANGER over thee, which is NOT thy BROTHER.” (cap emphasis-mine.)
(kinda sums up Barry, Little Stevie Dunham, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barak Hussein Obama...the guy we know so little about, except his moslem faith.)
Let’s not forget, Bath-House Barry supports infanticide, as well as being America’s first HOMOPOTUS.

We've always been under assault, that's the nature of the world and of humans, but we all have and have always had the ultimate weapon.
When we chose to turn away, and when we began to embrace what was to be shunned, we broke the deal and the protection and grace we as a nation enjoyed was removed.
That's when things really began to accelerate downhill.
There are rules to this world and consequences to our choices. We are choosing to break them and are flaunting it.
Fortunately, we are loved and are being shown warning signs, harbingers, if you will, as in Isaiah 9:10.
These are the wake up calls from the front desk and we slept through the first few.
The question before us is whether or not we wake up enough to answer it now or die in our sleep.

I haven’t seen that show. But thank God for my wife who reminds me of that fact every time I start to complain too much!
I believe He began to lift His hand of Grace eleven years earlier when this nation kicked Him out of our children's classrooms...
I was thinking that also.
And where was 0 when this happened, not in DC—one never knows how the devil's mind works.
If God has anything to do with this, and I believe HE does, it has been pre-determined.
