Mitt Romney was booed today at the NAACP conference in Houston after he promised to repeal president Obama’s health care reform law.

“I’m going to eliminate every non-essential, expensive program I can find, that includes Obamacare, and I’m going to work to reform and save –” Romney said before being interrupted by boos for about 10 seconds. (Video)

Can I ask the dumbest question in the world?

Why do Republicans appear in front of the NAALCP? Why bother? I don't see Libs speaking at the NRA or Heritage. So why do we need to pay them the lip service they don't pay us?

It’s a good thing he didn’t mention EBT cards and not using them for lap dances.

Perhaps the opportunity to change a few minds, even at least 1? The way people behave in public, especially around their "peeps" is a lot different then they act when they're not.

Plant a seed and maybe, just maybe, it will grow.

Because they are invited and telling your story and giving your opinion to people diametrically apposed to your philosophy may change one or two or maybe even several percentages of voters minds and that is enough to win the whole shebang.

Romney's got to know his audience - the rest of what he said was well-recieved.
So, you talk about everything else but don't mention ObamaCare - if you're talking to farmers, don't mention cutting farm subsidies, you just talk about other things.

Well, as an EXTREME SKEPTIC of Mittster, walking into the maw of the beast and declaring his opposition to 0bamaRomneyCare is a good step.

I wish he would apologize for his Romney0bamaCare implementation in MA.

But I’ll take this as a good step away from his Socialist past.

Water is wet.

The sun is hot.

The NAACP hates Republicans.

Laz would hit it.

Immutable laws of nature, all...not breaking news.

I would agree with you if they had the common courtesy to be polite enough to let someone finish a speech.

But what do I know?

Like any of those bigots would vote for him anyway. Probably the only reason he was invited to speak was so they could boo him.

The only good thing about our future limited access to health care is going to be watching them discover they have to stand in line behind 15 million illegals for half ass care.

Jim,

As much as I respect what you say, I gotta say going because you are invited is rather like calling the lobster dinner at a surf-and-turf the "guest of honor".

They want Obama’s stash. The NAACP is a front group for socialism. They want what you have......it belongs to them.
