Survival Mom ^ | 8/13/12 | Sheila

Posted on 08/15/2012 5:55:42 PM PDT by Kartographer

1. It’s just like camping.

2. You can buy enough food and supplies for forever.

3. Your neighbors will gather around and help each other.

4. If I buy enough gadgets (mini washing machine, generator, solar tracker) I’ll be OK

5. I can get to my survival location when TSHTF.

6. I can convince my “significant other” that this is the right move.

7. I don’t need to prepare a place. I’ll just grab my Bug-Out-Bag and find a cave somewhere.

8. My kids will be bored.

Why, so can I, or so can any man; But will they come when you do call for them?

pnuemonia, chew peeled garlic three to four times per day. (

Too bad Jim Henson's doctors didn't know this groundbreaking therapy. We'd have a lot more kermit

Heart attacke and strokes, take tincture of capsaicin in a little water, under the tongue.

Seriously? You gotta be yanking my chain with this load

(this works equally well for those that are unconsious)

Now that I'm sure IS true.

Yes, spam is an excellent substitute for bacon, but it should be the high salt formula. The lower salt version doesn’t keep as well.

Olives and other things in brine will eat through their cans rather quickly compared to other canned goods. Corn keeps for 15 years or more, so do Garbanzo beans.

I am subject to correction and admonition, but I think that most SHTF scenarios are more serious than hurricanes etc. 15kt, EMP, and pandemic are all realistic threats. A winter slip of the New Madrid fault would turn us into east and west America for a while - longer than the normal 72 hour planning scenario. Cyber and bio war are probably presently limited to state actors, but not for long. Then again, there are some competent state actors who are not particularly friendly and might decide that knocking everyone back to 1900 would actually favor them. Bottom line - we are used to someone - the Sheriif, fire department , Red Cross FEMA, National Guard, 82d Abn etc, coming in to rescue us. There are reasonable scenarios where that aid does not arrive for an extended period or at all.

I just don't agree as to the probability of the stuff you're talking about.

>> “The third type that I warn about are those who wish to bring God’s Armageddon into the discussion as if they know that it will be God’s will should some catastrophe befall us. They claim this despite the fact that the history of man is full of direr times which were caused by nature or man himself. History has shown us all too well that men do not need God to help them muck things up to a point were their fellows cry out for God to end it all and relieve them of their misery.” <<

.
You need to get into some intense Bible study!

You are deeply wrong on every point.

When people “muck things up,” it’s because they waited too long to turn to the boss. He remains in solid control of everything.

Any recipes on making (cannibalism)jerky or maybe smoking will the best for the long term ?

With bbq, the secret is in the sauce.

Our grocery is having a sale this week (not exactly, but priced at what they were two years ago) on those Bumble Bee little meat and cracker packets. While not budget friendly, I bought out the shelves because I know we'll eat them if there isn't a shtf and they're more friendly looking than a can of spam since my family aren't on board. I dropped off several at the grandparents with a song and dance about them needing a grab and go bag in case there's a wildfire. Sigh, it still went over their heads even with them complaining just the day before that we're in a high fire risk area with one way out. I've tried and tried but it's like talking to a wall with them and they grew up during the Depression. At home, I have to hide the GOOD bag so it won't be eaten. If the family ever needs it and I'm not there to get it, they'll be up the creek.

"resupply by getting in your vehicle"

And where do you plan on getting the gas? Next to milk, bread, beer and pampers there's nothing that disappears faster.

They waited to long. You proved me right with your own words/ They not God, but they.

Do you think the Jews in the cattle cars on their way to Dachau didn’t pray that God would end their suffering? Do you think it was God’s hand on the gas valve? Maybe you think I am wrong on every count because you unconsciously place yourself in the group I am writing about?

It’s no ‘load,’ it’s the most effective treatment available under any condition. Going to a hospital insures that your ‘condition’ will become permanent, and a true cash cow for the Med Mafia.

Capsaicin not only relieves heart attack and stroke, but it cures the conditions that caused them if you use it regularly in your diet.

And where do you plan on getting the gas?

try not taking my comments out of context. But I'll answer anyway Dunno about you, but I keep all of my vehicles 3/4 to full at all times - especially in times of rising gas prices, and if i can drive to resupply, then I can also get gas there, and if not I'm not going to go just driving around.

I did and I found:

A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3

In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. Proverbs 21:20

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8
