February: The month to send a message by changing your GOP registration ?
self ^ | 1/27/13 | NewJerseyJoe

Posted on 01/27/2013 8:37:15 PM PST by NewJerseyJoe

An idea I've been kicking around for a while.... Suppose there were a coordinated effort -- for registered Republicans to dump their current registration during a specific time frame -- let's say the month of February. Enough to get noticed -- by Boehner, by McConnell, by the conservative pundits (both the legit ones and the phonies). Do you think maybe THEN they'd get the message that we've reached the final straw of them not representing us?

Change to Independent, change to Conservative -- even change to Democrat, to start screwing up *their* primaries for a change.

This is a step short of starting a new third party -- something which conventional wisdom has always said is a bad idea, but one which we are being pushed toward against our will.

Submitted for your feedback and discussion.

Why not. If enough of us do it it might send a message to the idiots who run the GOP machine. I’m in. Just say when.

Change to dem and vote in their primaries.

Leave the GOP, start a third.

What do we have to lose at this juncture?

They’re so stupid, they’ll think people are leaving because they are too far right, while it is the exact opposite.

Personally I think they would be happy. They’d have less conservative republicans they’d have to do lip service appeasement to, they could just come out and be the real RINOs and political hacks they actually are.

Too late - did it right after the fiscal cliff cave.

I like the idea, but I realistically acknowledge that the establishment republicans like Boehner and McCain will get a good chuckle at most.

Until we stand up strong enough to vote them out, nothing will matter and America's slide will continue to accelerate. Boehner proved that with the debt ceiling charade and is upping the ante with his immigrant plan.

Meanwhile over at the senate Hillary bitched slapped the committee with a sham 'testimony' and they're all good with it. Of course, they needed to wrap things up so they could get on with confirming a traitor to succeed the liar.

IMHO, I don’t think Bonehead Boehner, Clueless Cantor, or Moron McConnell could give a care. They’re too busy selling Americans out to the socialist/Marxist Donkeys so they can keep whatever power and perks their masters will permit. These traitor RiNOs are despicable.

Uh, MORONS -—

YOU are mad at the GOP for not being conservative enough.

However? The MSM will trumpet any drop in GOP registration as “PROOF” that the country is going LIBERAL!

Get out of your caccon and face reality, for all of its faults, anything that hurts the GOP hurts the Conservative cause, at this point in time!

Too late for me. I dumped them a few years back

I could not disagree with you more on the last bit of your post. You are right on how the MSM would read it but they are not who the message is intended for so what’s the difference there.

Besides, by far the largest percentage of decline to state registration are former republicans.

Depends on where those who dump the party go.

The media will spin ANYTHING in the rats favor.

GOP numbers are up? Must mean their moderate message is what people want to hear.

See, I can play this game to!

Good idea to dump the Republican and register as something else. Although I cannot register Democrat....I could register something like “Klingon” or “LOLCat” party or something like that

GOP is dying...it wants to be the party of Illegal Aliens and NeoLiberals

If you think the GOP is going to change to suit conservatism....well, I think you need to keep the “moron” to yourself

And it’s because of people like you that the Republican party can’t get out of it’s own way. We can’t get organized and back one single concept about how to fix the situation we’re in.
Every suggestion is met with opposition and then nothing gets done by people that claim to be conservative.
What would it hurt? Who would it hurt if you changed your affiation. So what if the main stream media thought we were all Democrats?

Why would anyone here still be a registered Republican? They would have to support people like Graham and Boehner...are any of those people here? I can’t support this because I left both the GOPe and the Episcopal “church” at about the same time years ago...and for the SAME reasons.

Ditto.

I wonder if ANY Freeper has EVER served on their local, county or state Republican committee?

I know of ONE so far... Me.

I'm not at the moment due to work, but will again shortly when I retire.

THAT is how you get to them.. Start at the grass roots and work your way into the system, like the rats have done.

All the whining and complaining and quitting in the world will get us nowhere.

Find out who to see and become a member of your Republican committee.
