2014 may turn out to be what Republicans hoped 2012 would be. Taking over the Senate, and kicking Harry Reid back to minority leader. Michigan Democrat Senator Carl Levin announced he will not seek re-election in 2014, created yet another chance for Republicans to pick up a seat. Of course the problem always is, will Republicans find a strong enough candidate to run for the open seat?

Michigan 2010 Election results
You’re wasting your time with the know nothings.
We know how drastically we’re changing things.
Does that mean you voted for Obama or are one of the 3-4 million who "sat it out", thus allowing Obama a 2nd term?
So Heinrich and Udall are your definition of "true conservatives"?
If not, why didn't your state party run one against them???
So which are you, the pot or the kettle?
I smell Michelle Obama pulling a Hillary Clinton.
Levin last served on the Detroit city council in 1977 - 35 years ago.
No, we do not have any. Our Govenor is as close to a Conservative as is possible in this state and she barely qualifies as one. We are now a one party state. And besides we were talking about Michigan, not New Mexico. Are you a LIBERAL who claims since somebody else did it then he can do it?
No way, the ruthless left will let that happen.
Anything after ‘67 is part of the decline.
NEVER under estimate the ability of the Republican Senate Campaign Committee to completely screw the 2014 election up. I refer you to 2012.
find a republican that will not fall for the MSM trap about addressing “bedroom” issues and they might have a chance.
It’s along way to the 2014 elections but I expect a concerted effort from the unions, labor, minorities, and Democrats to unseat the Republican governor, Rick Snyder. He has already created a substantial enemies list - labor, for making Michigan a right to work state; retirees - for taxing pensions; minorities - for bringing in an emergency financial manager to oversee Detroit. I think there will be a lot of money spent to defeat Snyder and in that environment it will be difficult for a Republican candidate to win a Senate seat. Depends on the Republican candidate, but in the last few elections they’ve run some very mediocre Senatorial candidates.
Just wait until he increases gas taxes and vehicle registration fees.
If the republicans dont nominate a RINO - they will win the seat.
ronmey out polled EVERY non incumbent republican senator, including cruz, fisher and everybody else.
This seems like a huge problem to me
Roger Kahn is basically a Thaddeus McCotter without the fraud. Social conservative and fiscal nightmare.
Anything from Jerry Cavanagh onward is part of the decline.
