When the chicoms think NK is a real danger, they will take action, and will probably cede NK to SK. There really is no other option better for the chicoms. They’d be much better off with a friendly Korea then they are now.

Isn’t this their usual MO when they want a refill on their humongous EBT card?

I predict the Norks fire a missile aimed at California, which immediately strikes somewhere in Australia. We fire one nuke cruise missile into Pyongyang, ending the war.

...Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Thursday that the US military “will unequivocally defend, and [is] unequivocally committed to the alliance with, South Korea.”

OMG, we have Slo Joe Biden as Secretary of Defense.

Obama gives a high-five to Kim Jong Un, and purges our military.

The article is a good source of easy-to-read information from “analysts.” You know much more than I do about that particular situation, but other nations might also jump for whatever they’ve been wanting. Other than that, I think that it would be unwise to underestimate the damage that N. Korea could do. It won’t be the end of the world for most of us, but it could be costly.

On a side note, I see that the Korean situation is also getting the attentions of some end-of-the-worlders with extra character. If things get ugly overseas, maybe we’ll get some comedy relief in the boonies. [Stocked up on popcorn, cameras ready.]

After reading this about the Norks military vehicles:

http://www.dailynk.com/english/read.php?cataId=nk01500&num=10398

“Vehicles supplying the rear, run on substitute fuel (charcoal) so there was smoke everywhere, it was like someone had let off smoke bombs,” he said. “Also, old tires cannot be replaced, so they get filled with rice straw instead of air and the vehicles don’t function properly.” Early in the 2000s, an order was handed down calling for the use of rice straw in tires.

IMHO:

Maybe it’s time to pack up and git, and let the ROK’s have at it. I think they have proven their mettle. Thanks.

North Korea: What happens if Kim Jong-un acts on his threats?

Well, if anyone other than Obama were in the White House, you'd see the world's largest parking lot of radioactive fused glass. But Obama would use the occasion to stress the importance of gun control to avoid such violence in the future.

What happens if Kim Jong-un acts on his threats?

Upon launch, N Korea's missles are detonated over N Korea by US space-based particle beams. Then, US submarines launch countless missles into N Korea. After that, we see if there's any Seinfeld reruns on (and there probably are).

Any questions?

Truman wouldn't let MacArthur remove the Chinese armies with U.S. nuclear weapons.

Ike got things stabilized--but the DPRK just blew off the armistice.

Savage tonight doubted any today could fight as the 30K Chosin Frozen, sleeping in the snow, fighting in thirty below.

Will Kim Jong-Un use weapons some say are "fake"?

NORTH KOREA’S MOBILE MISSILE THREATENS U.S. U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that he believes North Korea is close to deploying an intercontinental ballistic missile which can threaten the U.S. The KN-08 ICBM is believed to be road-mobile and represents a “quantum leap in the North Korean missile threat,” Clapper said. Although Pyongyang has not tested the KN-08, several of the missiles were spotted moving around the country in January. Road-mobile North Korean missiles pose a serious threat to the U.S. and its allies because they can be moved around covertly, and are difficult to detect and target. There are also concerns that the technology could be transferred to other nefarious actors, including Iran. (Washington Free Beacon, March 14, 2013)

North Korea's New Long-Range Missile: Fact or Fiction?

Can Beijing back a North Korean attack without a serious blowback crippling its economy? Would this be a Pearl Harbor to dispel a period of inattention and apathy?

Regarding Putin, is he a fool? Is the KGB chief of East Germany and Stalinophile willing to gamble his warm-water port with an Asian distraction?

Despite America's cryptoislamocommunist crack-smoking closet queen CINC, her armed forces will crush any foe with or without state of the art technology.

The Arab Spring thinly disguised Saudi ringing of Israel will run up against the Syria-Iran-Russia team soon.

This is Kim Jong-Un's fifteen minutes.

I think a quick round of nuclear carpet-bombing would cure N-KO of all it’s “ILs”.
