The Venezuelan government was forced to begin importing 50 million rolls of toilet paper this week, due to massive shortages in consumer goods, and food in the country.
Alejandro Fleming, Venezuelas Minister of Commerce reportedly addressed the shortage of toilet paper, stating that, the Revolution will bring the equivalent of 50 million rolls of toilet paper to our country to calm things down. He went on to address the perceived insidious nature of the shortage, asking citizens that they please understand that we should not allow ourselves to be manipulated by a media campaign portraying shortages.

How can you shit if you don’t eat ?
If things keep going the way they are—we’ll be like Venezuela. Get ready to use that left hand as they do in the Third World. The poor folks of Venezuela—I don’t know how many million are there—but only 50 million rolls of toilet tissue a week. OK that might be a roll per person every two weeks. Boy I hope no one gets the Hershey Squirts! YIKES
That would be okay in the Middle East where they use their bare hands anyway. A shortage of goats and frilly lingerie would be a major problem though.
What is it with Socialism and Communism that TP and soap always seems to be one of the biggest shortages.
Socialism: azzes and armpits hardest hit...
Don’t you just love the places Government Price controls go
Oh the inanity!
Back when things were relatively good in Venezuela, people would complain that “how can we be so rich and be so poor”. It was hard to explain that a one-industry economy does not make you rich, and a socialized centralized economy tends to be a stagnant one no matter how much oil you’ve got.
So then they decided to make their economy even more socialist, even more politicized, and now they can’t even buy toilet paper. People never learn. Its like bleeding a patient and, when he doesn’t get better, you bleed him some more. When he dies the doc says, well, we did everything we could.
You fascists are always distorting the truth about Socialism, because you are deathly afraid of the “good example” — the example of true Socialism truly advancing the well-being of the Socialist masses.
And this is a prime example. There is NO shortage of toilet paper in Venezuela. Never has been under the Great Leader” Hugo, or the “Dear Leader”, his successor.
What Hugo has brought to Venezuela is a bumper crop of sh*t.
You really haven’t achieved Communism until toilet paper becomes a luxury item.
Does anyone know what your average liberal would say when confronted with this evidence of socialism’s failures?
Usually one of two things they always say...
Look further down the thread after the guesses.
Given the food shortage in Venezuela, is the plan to provide toilet paper recipes?
Finally, a country Cheryl Crowe can love.
There are 29 million Venezuelans, but it did not say 50 million rolls per week, it said 50 million rolls this week. The average American uses about a roll a week, so by American standards, that 50 million rolls will last about two weeks. At least it’s good news for Northern Maine. That’ll keep ‘em in beer and fishing lures for a month, and summer will be here by August sometime.
It’s too bad the old East Germany isn’t around anymore. They could supply some real quality (big time sarc) tissue to these South American socialists.
They can always use pictures of Chavez.
Socialism will leave you with a lot of crap on your hands
The socialist govt also brought in Sheryl Crowe to promote the One Square method she uses and admonishes others to use. It was unclear if the socialists would shake her hands, when they greeted her.
