House of Cards from Netflix is the first online-only series to be nominated for a Grammy. Episode 6 has a subplot that could be the blueprint for the Trayvon Martin racial entrepreneurial extravaganza.
In order to derail a nationwide teachers union strike, Congressman Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his chief of staff monitor the DC police radio bands all night. In the morning they hear of a drive-by shooting. Frank contacts an online reporter he is sleeping with and has her tweet "Eight-year old Washington DC boy killed by stray bullet in gangland shootout. He should have been in school. Spinella (teachers union president) to blame?" He gives her the details of shooting. Frank holds a press conference with the parents and finishes by blaming the teachers union for the tragic death. The teachers union immediately goes into crisis mode, but the president refuses to give in.
You'll have to watch the rest, but as I was watching it, it occurred to me that this is EXACTLY how the Trayvon Martion campaign went down.
A Nation of George Zimmermans Awakened Understand The Fraud Post Verdict of Acquittal
.
How right you are.
It’s funny you mention this I just finished watching this episode. This as well as coming up with a repeatable catchphrase “disorganized labor” are straight out of today’s politics.
I was gently castigated in another thread when I suggested that this was what one could expect when a black person was forced to choose between the truth for a white person's benefit and being black. I'm not making a vindictive racist statement. Simply noting [sadly] the Democrats have so poisoned race relations in this country that this is the state of affairs, i.e. the norm.
Kevin Spacey?
If you have young boys and Kevin offers to babysit it would be wise to turn him down.
I don’t think my kids or I are in any danger of ever meeting him.
