I was mowing my ditch and a Deputy Sheriff stopped, got out of his vehicle and offered to finish mowing the ditch[I only have one arm] I thanked him and let him know I appreciated his offer, but I needed the exercise.
The purpose of posting this is to broadcast that there are still decent law enforcement officers.
Probably one of those Christians.
There are plenty of good cops just like there are plenty of good Americans. Unfortunately, the good ones don’t get as much publicity as the bad ones so it creates a negative impression in many minds.
Probably 90-95% of cops are good cops.
It’s just the other 5%-10% that aren’t.
Come to think of it, he said he was. He even said that he was a Lay Minister or Preacher, I can’t recall which term he used, at the Church he attends.
Yeah maybe if you live in Mayberry.
Big city cops seem to have an us against them mentality these days.
Wonderful story. Thanks for telling us about it. There are many good cops in this country and it’s a shame that the bad ones get all the headlines.
I criticize the acts of bad ones so I should praise the acts of the good ones.
If he was off-duty, then good on him. If he was on-duty, then the taxpayers shouldn’t pay someone to mow your lawn.
MOST leos are good people.
Thanks for the post.
I live in Plant City in eastern Hillsborough County. We seem to get the cream of the crop as our Officers.
Wow, thanks for the reminder that all the news about bad cops is probably generated by a relatively small number of bad actors. Every cop I’ve personally known has been a real good guy (well, except, perhaps for one, and truth be told, he was probably a pretty good guy, too, just scary), and I’ve known a lot of them (you tend to meet a lot of cops in the gym if you work out most of your life).
I just can't figure that out.
He did not mow my lawn. He was in his personal vehicle, off duty going home.
Fixed it.
LOL! my local stopped to tell me it is illegal to shoot the clippings into the street.
A Texas prison Warden famously once said, “On any given day at least 5-10% of our staff belong on the other side of the bars”.
LOLOLOL!!!! {^) Belly laugh, that one!!!
I'll wave to him the next time I get to the Strawberry Festival - mmmm Shortcake!
And SPORT, if that one-wing condition happened in our country's service, thank you!
He’ll have the bunk next to you in the re-education camp.
