Gov't to Shut Down Websites"Even if It Costs More Than Keeping Them Up"to Make Shutdown More Painful
Pundit Press ^ | 10/3/13 | Aurelius

In a move that once again shows that the consequences of the government "shutdown" are being intentionally heightened by the Obama Administration, the government is shutting down websites, even though the cost to shut them down is greater to keep them up.

In other words, even though the President is arguing that the government will do everything to use money wisely during the shutdown, his underlings are intentionally wasting money to hurt the average person.

This should come as no surprise to even the most casual political observer, but to have such clear confirmation is, in a way, quite sad. Particularly because it, once again, confirms that the President does not have the best interest of the United States in mind, but rather is looking to inflict damage to score political points.

The Cato Institute reported on the government's callous calculation...

They go on to report that the guidance from the White House demands: "agencies... pull down “inessential” public-facing content even when this requires spending more money than leaving it up would."

The website he needs to close down is the one pushing Obamacare.

Hey, it’s the Socialist (Alinsky) way! Sorry, but we no longer have parties of Democrats and Republicans but we do have Socialists and Republicans (and RINO’s) but at least there is opposition to the Socialists.

This is a temper tantrum. Much like what Crazy Eyes Mark Dayton did in Minnesota in 2011. So this is another petulant spoiled brat as a government chief executive. So did Barry the Bastard trade notes with Crazy Eyes?
One difference though. Crazy Eyes threw his tantrum at the beginning of the first term. But Crazy Eyes need not worried about getting re-elected in 2014, he’s got Mark Ritchie (SoS and one of Georgy Schwarz’s butt buddies) to find “misplaced ballots” in the trunk of some “abandoned cars” at some rest stop on I-35.

Just like it cost more to put up the barricades around the WWII memorial than to just leave it open.

Obama has gotten pretty much everything he wanted and now someone has the nerve to tell him no and he is throwing a tantrum and lashing out to hurt as many as possible.

“Just like it cost more to put up the barricades around the WWII memorial than to just leave it open.”

Not to mention:
The National World War II Memorial was funded almost entirely by private contributions, as specified in Public Law 103-32. The campaign received more than $197 million in cash and pledges. Support came from hundreds of thousands of individual Americans, hundreds of corporations and foundations, veterans groups, dozens of civic, fraternal and professional organizations, states and one territory, and students in 1,200 schools across the country.

I don’t care. Shut em all down. Shut all the monuments and parks down. Adjourn Congress until next year. Send us all a 25% tax refund, or pay down the debt.

If they left them up and nothing needed updates or maintenance then how relevant is the staff? If they outsource the hosting then there is no justification for shutting them down.

You’re working under the assumption that they care about justifying their actions. They don’t. They’re trying to make the shutdown as visible and painful as possible. Period.

Actual costs, amount of work required, logic, history...none of these things matter to the Obama admin. I can guarantee the marching orders Obama gave were something like:

“They want to shut it down? Make it visible, make it hurt and make them own it”

Indeed. It pisses me off when people 'can't understand why Congress doesn't get along'.. IT'S BECAUSE DEMOCRATS HAVE BECOME FASCISTS, THAT'S WHY!!!!

Well, I would not call the Fascists but you would be closer that I might call them. Actually I would call them Socialists which is a major difference from Liberals and things have changed in a major way. Unfortunately the public has not caught on or they still think that they are their saviors. Either way, all of us are losers.

They would rather drive the train off the cliff if saving it required fixing the track

notice how Pelosi gets away with calling it a “Republican shutdown”, which translated means - the Republicans are required to compromise in our favor, we Democrats are not required to compromise at all.

Amen... Unfortunately, more folks today are worried about their benefits from Government instead of where it is coming from... Well, isn’t that the problem. Oh well, seems that we are lost anyway - how can you expect those that have little to vote for Republicans when the Democrats keep giving away the kitchen sink...

Conservatives need to explain that someone who wants to promotes clean fighting should have a policy of fighting slightly cleaner than one's opponent, but must make it clear that if his opponent fights dirty he will reciprocate. A policy of fighting clean regardless of what one's opponent does will merely encourage one's opponent to fight dirty.

Republicans have tried to "make nice" to Democrats for so long that the Democrats' tactics have gotten dirtier and dirtier. Unless or until the Democrats become civilized again, Republicans shouldn't even try to negotiate with them.
